Commentary from the Dawgs' fan base....

***

Kentucky is going to beat our brains in if we play like we did yesterday. They didn't just beat Fla, they imposed their will on them for 4 quarters on both sides of the ball. IDK if a Bloody Tuesday and a home night game is gonna fix our issues enough to beat them.

***

This Kentucky game really worries me from what I saw yesterday’s game. I know it was Florida but they were impressive. They look to have pretty dominant lines of scrimmage on both sides of the ball and a damn good RB.
It will be interesting to see if Kentucky can handle prosperity and win a big time game in the road.
Thank goodness we are at home. To me, this one will be a total knock down drag out. I believe we will pull it out. We better play a complete game and come out with fire in our eyes from the very first series. We will be in real trouble if we start this game like we have on the previous games this year.
Pray that it’s not cold and/or raining like other Kentucky games in recent past. That would be a terrible situation for us with what Kirby has a tendency to do in those conditions especially against Kentucky.
Bring the noise and the heat Saturday night and dawgs win. Let’s go and keep the streak alive.

***

Now watch UK's other games before yesterday. They played a soft team. We aren't. We are considerably better.

***

We are also considerably better than South Carolina and Auburn but couldn't dominate.

***

UGA has to come out gate strong. Can’t start slow.

Kentucky jumped out to a 23-0 lead behind a dominant Ray Davis first half against what had been one of the better rushing defenses in the country. Lot to clean up defensively this week.

***

It's the way they jumped out, just running the ball between the tackles.

***

Doubtful UGA lays down for UK like the turds did.

UGA has a winning culture, UF doesn't, and no player who is going to don a blue jersey next Saturday has defeated UGA, especially in Athens.

The Dawgs will be fine

***

Florida isn’t very good anyway, and they’re terrible away from home. They showed that against Utah and pretty much all of last year.

Kentucky doing that to Florida yesterday in Lexington says very little about what Kentucky can do with us in Athens (at night).

We’ve got our own problems, but Kentucky is not going to “beat our brains in” even if we play like we did yesterday.

This same Kentucky team was tied with Eastern Kentucky at halftime and allowed 28 points to Vanderbilt

***

UK won’t be at home. They’ll be at Sanford at night. Yes, the running game travels, and that is a bit of a concern, but I expect us to try to force them to pass it, and our fans need to cause as many communication issues as possible.

Also our special teams play will need to be a elite.

Someone besides Brock has to step up in the passing game. Maybe Ladd with another healthy week under his belt can be that guy.

***

Our team will hear all week about Davis and 300 yards and how Auburn gashed us like no one has since LSU in 2018. UK’s run scheme is different than Auburn’s. Atmosphere will be very different. Offense is starting to click and develop an identity—which is more pass than run. It’s the type of game where, in the past, we’ve done like a 35-3 thing.

***

UK is a completely different brand of football that plays more into what we prefer

***

We better be ready to stack the box and get ready for war.

***

Nobody loves them some Kentucky football like the Vent. I’m not even sure their own fans hype them as much as ours do. Of course I’m also convinced most of our fans only watched Kentucky play for the first time yesterday.

***

The transitive property doesn’t always work. Matchups mean a lot week to week. They’ll be a challenge, no doubt. We, in no way, shape or form, will get our brains beat in.

***

And that same Kentucky team, who is better than South Carolina, will be in Athens, where South Carolina beat us 14-3 in the 1st half.

This team is not as strong at RB or QB as we have been in the last two years. We are not as strong on the DL or at LB.

Jalen, Ringo, Chris Smith, Nolan, Beal were very experienced players. I get that running teams should face an uphill battle w our D, but Kirby wasn’t very happy nor sure about giving up so many rushing yards to the Barn. Kentucky is much better. Fortunately Will Levis is gone.

It always worries me when so many folks post cocky predictions, “call their shots”, or declare the “W” with such arrogance. I doubt anyone will beat our brains in, but we are absolutely more vulnerable than we have been in two years. This is a pivotal game in my opinion of assessing where we are and what we are capable of this season. Rather than make light of the history and opponent, we need to look ourselves in the mirror, work our asses off for ways to look better, buckle up, assume not a damn thing and get back to relentless play and havoc for 4 qtrs.

And we better bring the absolute noise Saturday night…disturb the damn peace!

***

I expect a war and to pull away in the 4th. They won’t be able to impose their will on us

***

I think it’s a good sequence for the Dawgs. KY performance puts everyone on proper notice and our struggles against the run add more urgency.

***

Chicken littles out in full force lately.

***

Oddly enough, yesterday's game gave me great confidence that we not only come out strong against Kentucky, but we win rather easily. Kentucky is 1 dimensional and their QB isn't a RPO type like Thorne. Yesterday's game was exactly what we needed & Beck is ready to roll.

***

This year's team has found ways to allow inferior teams to score points. What Auburn was able to do yesterday was a huge eye opening problem we have defensively.

Kentucky is a different animal this year. They always give us a very physical game and this year isn't going to be any different. Somehow if we allow them easy points we're going to get our brains beat in by this team. We have to play our best game to take care of them otherwise they'll carve out 12 play drives chewing up the clock. I could see another situation where we have 3 possessions in the 1st half down 17-3.

***

I find it amusing that people think kentucky is a bad match up for us when it is actually the exact opposite

***

Must have been hostile against South Carolina too. My point is, we are 5 games into a season and we still can’t show up for four quarters. Maybe we aren’t “considerably better” than a lot of the teams that a lot of y’all push.

***

Has Kirby ever lost to Mark Stoops? The vent loves some Kentucky

***

Between the new clock rules and how the two teams' games went yesterday, Stoops may have texted Kirby "I know we shook on it, but I'm afraid we're going to have to actually try to win this time."

***

they will always be the most physical team Georgia faces (while Stoops is there) but they’ll struggle to hold up on the talent end unless Georgia has a few turnovers

***

UGA opens -16.5 vs Kentucky.
No way I would give anybody Kentucky +16.5. I'm really startled by the line. We haven't covered a spread this season.

And yet....

.... What is it some of you folks tell me about how all those palaces got built in the desert.

So, why do oddsmakers have so much more confidence in Georgia than just about everybody on this board.... INCLUDING ME?

***

It is the perfect storm for Georgia to have its coming out party behind what will be a crazy Sanford stadium. Beck has now found his confidence/swagger and the defense is being ridiculed/doubted for not stopping the run. Now that we play a team that manhandled Florida at the LOS and is known for running the ball the defense should be laser beam focused this week and extremely motivated to play to the Georgia standard.

I’m not saying I’d take Georgia at -15 considering we still haven’t played a complete game, but I see how we get it done. We also simply have a fair amount more talent than they do.

***

Yep Kentucky is definitely feeling good about themselves and now have to bring that same energy on the road in a hostile environment.

Georgia finally has a reason to not feel like the unquestioned favorite who is playing someone with nothing to lose. Kirby and the team know this game probably decides the division. We will be ready from the get go.

If we lose it’s simply because Kentucky is better.
***

I’d bet the farm on those points. We’re 0-5 against the spread in 2023 and Kirby is managing these games to win….no style points, no fluff, no excess. Just win. I believe the line will shrink to 14.5. Dawgs will win…but they won’t cover. Close game in Athens. Dawgs 24 Pussies 20
