What expectations do you have for the reds? If any?

Why the Nationals? I think the Cards and Reds will make over them

I agree with some that Chapman is not being used properly. He is one of the better pitchers on the staff and he's only used in games where the Reds were going to win 90% of the time anyway. He doesn't have to start but he shouldn't be 9th inning only. If its a 2-1 game in the 7th and the other team gets 1st and 3rd with none out, why not bring Chapman in? He is the best at striking out the side. I think they should Chapman in spots where the game is most important, or when 3 outs is needed in a tough spot. He doesn't have to be a starter, but he has to be more than a closer.

Expectations? Same as always, to be teased with good regular seasons only to be let down by dismal playoff performances. When is the last time they were past the first round of playoffs?

Bailey has said he is willing to give the team a discount to free up money for other players because he wants to stay in Cincinnati. I bet a 6 or 7 year deal gets done for $11MM to $12MM per season. Bailey is willing to leave some money on the table.
LOL

I could see giving a hometown discount after you make your money but this is Baileys first free agent contract. I would take what I could get also. It's not like Cincinnati is his hometown and he grew up a Reds fan. He's from Texas.

After watching the Cincinnati Reds beat on the Cleveland Indians the past 2 days. I expect a lot this year. Simon who is a Relief Pitcher started yesterday and went 2 no hit scoreless innings. Plus the Indians did not get a hit till the 5th inning. And Billy Hamilton looked good.

Votto to the 2-hole .
those are just rumors

No better than last year. They had trouble scoring consistently last year and they will this year. They made virtually no significant moves this winter. They need a third baseman and a power hitting left fielder.
