What can we learn from Cal to Sweet 16?

Let's keep perspective.

Arkansas was a 10 seed. They were maybe 1-2 wins from being a play in team. Maybe 2-3 wins from missing the tournament all together.

They got an absolutely awful Kansas team in the 1st round. Then they got a St. John's team that can't shoot from 3. I've been a big believer that St. John's and Michigan State were/are primed for upsets because of their sub 30% shooting from 3 point range.

Arkansas was able to out-athlete St. John's. Hilariously, we lost so many games over the years where teams packed the paint and dared us to shoot 3's. I actually refer to it as the Calipari defense. And now Calipari won with the Calipari defense.

It helped a great deal that Calipari was stuck playing two teams with names he recognized. If this were a team called St. Peter's or Oakland, he would have done zero preparation and been caught off guard.

Ellen & his daughter were crying. To me, that says a lot.

Cal had lost his mojo. Even those close to him, probably realized it, if they were to be honest and open. Those tears represented some kind of relief and joy. I am still glad he’s not my coach, but Cal seems back on a better path.

We learned that Cal owns Rick. Also that underdog cal is always dangerous. Also learned that at John’s has no shooters

That his gig of using UK as his NBA farm was over. He wasn't willing to do what was necessary at UK to win big, if it meant that one of precious draft picks was going to be exposed. At Arkansas he's only gotten this far because Kansas is in turmoil, and Pitino took out his best players.
likely going to beat tech as well and if Fla plays the way they did today we will see u in san Antonio
