What can be done about the idiots who post 1/4 or halfway through the game blasting Cal or a player ? Hint,Hint, the games is 40 minutes.

It's just people that get emotional about something they care about. As others have said, it's best to avoid posting during a game or do it sparingly if you typically get worked up about it. Because there will always be moments during a game where you will ask, WTH? JMO...

This is why I don't post during games. It's nearly always gonna be a knee jerk reaction and it rarely turns out to be accurate. Folks probably think I'm always sweet as pie to Cal and the team, because I always wait until I've calmed down and the game is over before posting. But the truth is, I often am ranting and angry- at Cal, at players, just at the team in general. If I were to post my in-game rants, I'd have a very different reputation on this board. EDIT: To answer your question- what can be done? Absolutely nothing. 🤣
That's why I have hardly any posts on this board, even though I have been viewing here for over 15 years; usually several times a day. I choose to think through my posts and replies. If I posted or replied whatever was in my head right after a bad play or a questionable coaching decision; I would sometimes come across as a Cal hater; sometimes a pumper. The downside (or the good) is after I calm down, I usually just don't post or reply. Does that make me wise; or timid?

Yeah, I would say it makes you wise. You know what they say about a man of few words? They don't say you're wise when you always speak everything on your mind. Haha! 😀

I've always thought there was only one thing to do about idiots: live with them. They will always exist.

That's because you're rational and one of the best contributors this board has.

Right now, Houston, Arizona and Purdue are a notch above everyone else.

What Houston is doing on defense is crazy. The margin of victory of the games is insane. They held teams to 26.4% 3 point shooting and 40.2% from 2. They turn teams over on nearly 28% of their opponents possessions.

They are just so dominant right now.
I can't wait until Houston plays Kansas.

I didn't a chance to watch the game live today, so I came on here first to see if we won. I gotta say, I couldn't tell at first by just reading one of the threads, whether we won or not. That was pretty scary. When I finally found out we won, I was so relieved that I didn't care that is was by just 2 points. Hey, a win is a win.

GO BIG BLUE!!!💙💙💙

It's a good learning experience for those that may realize how they messed up. It's also good for the rest of us who may be thinking the same thing but refrain from posting about it on social media.

Go back to the original title and replace game with season and see how tough it gets.

Should we also do something about mid game sunshine pumpers that end in a loss?…

I vote we don't don't do anything about the idiots.

Honestly, watching them take a beating in those threads after prematurely ejaculating their stupid thoughts onto a computer screen is fantastic.

2 of the threads in particular that got started today were as dumb and premature as I have maybe ever seen.
What threads were started that dumb and premature? I honestly don’t recall seeing any. Many have said the Bradshaw thread was idiotic when in fact there was nothing idiotic about it, someone stating they didn’t see him as a first rounder and most just hoping he would contribute more to the team than he had. Post was made in first half after two straight full games where he added nothing and then in first half yesterday was playing very poorly. Some posters take anything said about someone that isn’t glowing compliments as bashing when it’s merely observations. Posters who make more of things than what they is where the real problem lies.

Its what freedom of speech is all about. There is no requirement for the speech to be intelligent, accurate, or entertaining.

Thankfully, a blind hog will find an acorn every now and again. Which brings us here today I assume? LOL

Yep. I think there's a limit on this stuff given the randomness of sports but I think Vegas is about as good as you could be at this stuff.
With the amount of money involved, you can believe that whatever Vegas uses is the best money can buy. Vegas just knows. They know more than Joe Schmoe, and are good at what they do. Money for money.

If BBN didn't have emotional knee jerk reactions, our passion would be dead. Meaning Kentucky basketball would have been killed. Embrace the good and bad with what is Kentucky basketball, and be glad there's passion. Embrace the chaos and ignore the fringe.

Yup, the sunshine pumpers got a win they can hang their hat on finally. Against an unranked Florida team…

are you always a hater

I don’t like Cal and don’t trust his coaching. This team has some great players and more than enough talent to compete for a title. We just don’t have the coach to go with them…

True. Still, they haven’t played anybody.

we just gonna stop doing game threads then?
Everybody reacts in real time by posting to in-game threads and emotions/comments run from low (negative) to high (positive) depending on how we’re playing. I understand that and I am one who comments on bad play and compliments on good play. We don’t all have to be cheerleaders. But, yeah, making negative individual threads before the game is over can lead to embarrassment and ridicule sometimes.

Honestly, even tho they should probably show some restrain and wait, I get it.

People get emotional during games. They overreact at the smallest of things.

Not just UK. How many times on here do threads pop up during games where a massive underdog has a lead at halftime? And 99% of the time the favorite ends up coming back immediately after that post is made lol.

Games 40 mins......but there will always be overreactions.
That’s what the game thread is for though. We’ve long had a standing rule be that what is said in game threads don’t overly count. We all get pissy here and there during tight games.

Have yet to see an embarrassing thread that was started and no one has even given an example. Only one I can think of that bothered some was the Bradshaw one which nothing was really overstated there. He was playing poorly and we weren’t getting anything from him but no one trashed him rather pointed out how bad he was struggling. He made some great plays in the clutch yesterday but overall didn’t have a great game. Only thing embarrassing about that thread was those that said Bradshaw was getting trashed when he wasn’t.
