What are your honest thoughts on KSR and Matt Jones?

"The Show is great and everyone bashing it has some sort of agenda otherwise you would just accept it and be happy that we have something that pulls back the curtain a bit and gives us a peek inside our favorite school." .....perfect response.

I listen every day. Love the show and what it provides. How any UK fan could poo poo a radio show dedicated to UK sports and bashing loserville at every turn is beyond me.

He's a very bright guy and can speak intelligently on a lot of topics, not just sports. Having said that, he reminds me of a bright person that's around less intelligent and less rounded people most of the time and thinks he's a lot smarter than he really is. His sidekicks on the show are so limited, outside of UK sports, it's embarrassing at times. He is usually transparent when inserting his political views into the show and doesn't do it that often. He does do it in subtle ways more than most probably notice.

I do listen to the show a few times a week and usually enjoy it when I do.

Wrong on so many levels. He does know sports. No, he's not a FB guy and readily admits that. But he DOES get the latest scoop on all UK sports and that is why I listen. Not sure what you want? A show discussing x's and o's?? What kind of ratings would that get? Piss poor imho.

KSR is proof that you can fool most of the people all of the time. Their website over there thrives because they have frequent posts. The posters use pen names, and you can be sure that a very small number of people are actually generating all those posts. So the content rotates fast, but it is almost all fluff. They have gotten a popular rap about knowing a lot about basketball but nothing about football. But as far as I can see, they don't know anything about basketball either. Adding Maggard helped a bit with football content, but Maggard is not a football insider as he claims. As for Jones himself, the bloom is off the rose. This guy is another self-promoting, opportunistic attorney who thinks having a sports website and being a sports analyst qualifies him for the United States Congress. That's what this has been about. What a tool. When he didn't run, the public reason he gave was that the time wasn't right for him. That means he knew he would lose. Keep an eye on this act, because he will run when he thinks he can win. The people of our state deserve much better than another opportunistic, narcissistic lawyer in Congress.

The site could have made a disastrous turn for the worse in the last year or so. It isn't the Jollity Farm it wants to be but it's better than it was, and I'm glad the number of semi-cheesecake photos of pretty coeds has dropped.

I've never listened to the show, but Matt Jones's politics comes out so rarely on the web site I wouldn't have known his leanings if they hadn't been moaned about here. I don't even know what kind of Democrat he is. We regularly deal with a huge range of opinions and ideas. Bernie's a Nordic Socialist. HRC is a former board member of Wal-Mart. Jim Webb seemingly was proud of having killed someone. Some Dems get the smelling salts out when a gun is mentioned. So, I never know what to make of auto-pilot anger over simply being a Democrat. The current Republican presidential race has been a lot of fun figuring out what policies Republicans endorse. Trump recently boasted he could shoot someone and people would still vote for him. What a world.

Matt's fine by me -
Don't listen to the radio show because I just don't listen to the radio anymore - no point turning it on when I'm in the car to/from work less than 4 minutes.
Do read the website - skip past the silliness if I'm not in the mood for it, and read what UK news I want to, because I know I can find it there.
Really enjoyed when KSR did the live chat for games - he was a lot of fun during those.

On the radio they (primarily Matt) comes across as a little arrogant, but to achieve what he has achieved, it kinda takes an arrogant person. Having met Matt and Ryan personally at live shows, they are very personable. I love the outlet he provides for Kentucky fans. 24/7 Cats. I'll take it.

I don't use the site, but I do listen to his radio show sometimes via IHeart. I find it entertaining. Amusing sometimes. If I listen it's usually the day after a game. I like hearing how callers feel after it. Often times much as I do, but there are a few on the lunatic fringe.

He is actually pretty useless as a sports reporter and as a human being. He would rather force his political agenda on the listeners than actually provide informational and entertaining sports information. In addition he as become nothing more than a mouthpiece for the university and has no guts when ti comes to reporting the facts. I no longer listen to his broadcasts nor do I read any of the drivel he or his slaves post.

Yep. And to anyone that has sat in the Lexington Center food court and had to listen to his pre-game show with Lemond and Franklin all know just how arrogant Jones really is. I was there for the UL game with some family, just shaking my head as he commanded the show by regularly cutting off both Lemond and Drew so that he and his ridiculous self-loving opinions can be heard over and over again. Truth be told, I've never listened once to his radio show, so this was my first experience with it. And, after watching this arrogant tool interrupt and hog the entire time on the mic, I figured it would be my last.

Who cares that he's "successful" or a UK fan. He's still a self-loving moron that employs a bunch of sophomoric bloggers that do nothing but regurgitate the same stories 25 times per 24-hour period. Hell, based on what I've seen, the two best "staffers" - Franklin and Ms. Thompson - should run off and start their own site and radio show, particularly after watching Jones just walk and talk all over Drew in that joke of a pre-game radio show for the UL game this season. I don't have a clue why those two stick around and take Jones's arrogance.

It's not black and white. The OP asked for opinions, some are stronger than others, in both directions. People pointed out pros and cons, but apparently some can't tolerate it. Perhaps you should avoid threads where KSR might be criticized.
