What are you listening to?

Cody Jinks Maybe most underrated country artis last 25 years . If he played the Nashville game he would be one of most recognized artists by now but he refused to sell out even a little.

Percussive tapping, fingerstyle, smacking, fret tapping.. dude does it all he's a one man band

They make our dreams in factories..
So we don't aspire to what we can't achieve so take your fire take your belief burn the factories down..

The last is amazing love song and the chorus and all the lyrics are right on

Oh woman, hush hush hush,
Let this moment stabilise,
Oh woman, hush hush hush

No need to rush rush rush,
Feel our orbits synchronise,
Oh woman, hush hush hush

You're reaching into me,
A direct link to my insides,
You're reaching in to me

Don't mean a thing to me,
I keep telling myself lies,
Don't mean a thing to me

And I will stretch this second
Until the sun destroys the earth,
I will extend expectance
Until expansion is reversed,
I'll take our dust and ashes
Until a cloud of us is formed,
And I will zoom into it
Until a galaxy is born.

I see you blush blush blush,
As the blood begins to rise,
I see you blush blush blush

I feel the crush crush crush,
You drag me down towards the sky,
I feel the crush crush crush

And you are all I hear,
The air is rushing as I burn
up in your atmosphere,

I plunge into the sea,
My life is flashing past my eyes
And you are all I see

And I will stretch this second
Until the sun destroys the earth,
I will extend expectance
Until expansion is reversed,
I'll take our dust and ashes
Until a cloud of us is formed,
And I will zoom into it
Until a galaxy is born

Isolated bass (Glenn Hughes) and drum (Ian Paice) from Deep Purple's "You Fool No One"

You'll need to fast forward to 2:34 (to get past the unheard Jon Lord organ solo/intro) and listen up to about the 7:50 mark.

Paice was an absolute BEAST...

I went to a Cody Jinks concert in Huntsville Alabama last year and it was great. I am glad to see that more artist like Cody, thanks to social media and streaming platforms, are getting a larger audience despite the fact that radio doesn't play them.

I have been listening to a couple of younger guys who are along the lines of a Zach Bryan by the names of Waylon Wyatt and Bayker Blankenship. Wyatt is from Arkansas and Blankenship is from Livingston TN about an hour NE of Nashville. They both have that gravelly soulful voice.

Tough for me to listen to Zach Bryan without thinking g he's a less than Tyler Childers as he sounds like him.

A shame most never heard of Jinks - he literally would be a top 5 star if he did the Nashville thing but the man hates Nashville with fire of 1000 suns lol..

Whitey Morgan is pretty good too if you haven't heard him give him a try you might like it

Cody Jinks is great. I missed the chance to see him at Bourbon and Beyond. Our Daughter said he put on a fantastic show. He's one of my favorite country acts for sure. No matter the genre, I have found so many non radio play artists and bands by going down youtube rabbit holes. Found my favorite country artist at the moment in Stephen Wilson Jr by doing just that. The man is a phenomenal singer, songwriter, and guitar player. Give him a whirl if you like country.

This is such a sick country groove. One of those songs that could go one for a half and hour and I'd still be bobbing along.

And some other ish I've been vibing too this week.

It would be hard for anyone to convince me that Stapleton isn't the greatest overall singer of my lifetime. Some are great country singers or rock singers or pop singers but nobody can sing songs from multiple genres and make them sound like they are the one he does exclusively like Stapleton.

Putting this on while decorating the tree tonight.

this guy has a guitar that breaks a chromatic scale into TWENTY-SEVEN tones, rather than TWELVE.

Thought it was pretty interesting...
