Brad Cecil hears from Kentucky about once a week. That's what the 6-foot-4, 275-pound offensive guard from Jacksonville (Fla.) Bartram Trail told me this week. Kentucky offered Cecil a few weeks ago and Cecil seemed pretty excited when that happened. He also has a Power Five offer from Virginia to go along with a bunch of G5 and FCS offers, including some grant in aid offers from Ivy League schools. So he's a smart kid.

Kentucky was sending Cecil mail for a long time before they finally offered in February and Darin Hinshaw is his main recruiter. I suspect once the spring passes he may hear more from Kentucky. Cecil would like to visit Kentucky but hasn't set a trip date yet.

I can tell you this: Based on everything I've heard in recent months, Kentucky really relies heavily on John Schlarman's evaluation of offensive linemen. It seems like the offensive line is one area where there is a pretty wide discrepancy between what the general recruiting world (reflected in the rankings) thinks about offensive linemen and what Kentucky thinks about then. So if you see a kid and wonder why UK has offered or why they haven't offered, and he's a lineman, it's probably because Schlarman has a strong feeling one way or another. And with the way the line performed in 2016, I think he's got a good amount of capital and deference.

The Cats is still in contact with Montrae Braswell, a 5-foot-9, 177-pound cornerback from Avon Park, Fla. UK, Iowa State and Wisconsin are Braswell's main offers thus far.

I've mentioned a couple of sleeper wide receiver targets or potential targets for UK recently. Here's another: Genuine Potts, a 6-foot-3, 190 pass-catcher from Powder Springs (Ga.) McEachern. Wake Forest and West Virginia are his other Power Five offers and he has a lot of G5 and FCS offers, too.
