We GAVE this game away…

Missed free throws(8 of them) 16 Turnovers, way too many fouls. Should have stayed in a zone. Tonight showed how valuable our starting guards are to us . Perry and the Mountain Mamba are valuable to our team but they are not ready for 20 plus minutes per game.
Let’s call the two guys out:

Williams 5/11 from the foul line.
Oweh 3/5.

Everyone else combined for 12/12.

Thanks again, Amari.

I like Pope”s take :
We were good enough to win the game for 36 minutes. Lost the game last 4 minutes. No excuses for missing players. Hold player’s accountable , even made a reference to not boxing out on FT with Amari sitting next to him , but praise Noah and the other freshman to give them courage.

Keep them accountable, learn and move on to the next game.

We lack the guard that can penetrate and create offence for others

Hopefully that will be improved with two freshmen guards with better athleticism

But defence and rebounding may be even worse next year

If Garrison is the starting center next yy, we have no chance to be strong team at all. Soph Nick is way more better than Soph Garrison. Dont expect Garrison to be developed into starter level next year, would rather Morelo over Garrison
Garrison can never start because he’s intellectually challenged. I watch him and think of the Bama coaching staff in Forest Gump as they talk about how stupid Forest is, and then say, “But he sure can run!”

Garrison has height and athleticism, but like Forest Gump, he’s just not a smart man.

The word is out around the league. Brea can't guard a fence post. Pay attention to how often his man scores. Lack of quickness is a major fault of this team. We have no one who can penetrative and kick it out to shooters.
Lot of truth in this. Just as Brea lacks the speed and quickness to stay in front of his man on defense, he lacks the quickness and ball skills to get himself a shot on offense. Unless he has someone to penetrate and kick the ball out to him, his three point attempts will always be contested or too far out from the basket. On the active roster tonight, only Oweh has the ability to penetrate but when he does, the ball is going up at the rim no matter what. Also, Robinson and Butler (and of course Kerr Kriisa) push the ball so much faster and we shoot threes in transition. Without (any of) them, we walk it up every possession and woefully try to run the offense against a set defense that is way quicker than us at 3-4 positions.
