Are we now playing like we were projected to? What do you think our record over the last 6 games will be? I think 4-2. In this year of parity, we're right there. What do you guys think?

I'd be happy if we went 2-1 at Vandy, UF and TAMU, delirious if we went 3-0 but not shocked at 1-2.

Yes we are..and will be one of the favorites if Skal will come on..He's getting better, but we need him to defend and rebound..Be a rim protector

Remove two inexplicable losses to inferior teams in UCLA and OSU when Ulis was hurting, and two equally inexplicable road game collapses at Auburn and Tennessee, and this team would be a No. 1 seed.

Today was a great sign, but I'm not going to get excited about this team until and unless they pass the test ahead of them. Today was a great sign, but we've got a ways to go.

Several on this board had UK losing today.
We just beat a team that had not lost at home all yr, was tied for 1st in SEC at 8-3 and had the best overall record in SEC at 21-3 and we won by 27.

We may not lose again.

I think UK finishes 5-1. Either A&M or Florida may get us. UK has the highest RPI in the conference so teams will be gunning for that late season quality win.
Both are hot garbage right now, but they will play like the Warriors when we roll into town..Still think we win both Fla i don't think will be close..

Coach Cals process with his teams may drive some of us crazy but it works. The way this team is improving, it wouldn't surprise me at all if this team wins #9. Ulis has been amazing this season and IMO is the best player in college basketball.
I agree. Tyler Ulis is the best player in CBB. 100% sure that no player in CBB is more important to his team.

We're definitely a contender... We took one of the best teams in the country to OT on their home floor, despite a ridiculous foul discrepancy. The good news is we're getting better. Willis helps space the floor and Murray and Ulis just keep getting better. Wish we had Poythress for depth..hopefully he'll be back.

I hate to be a Debbie downer, but we are STILL not playing to our potential. Poythress is out. Lee is not at the top of his game. Skal is no where near as good as he can be.

We have not hit our ceiling.

Are we a contender? Well, we are one of about 10 teams that have a shot. This time of year, that's about all you can ask for. Could go home the first weekend. Could go home because we have run out of competition.

Can't wait for the tourney.

Very well said! The Cal era has been notorious for some inexplicable regular season losses but they always make up for them in the tournament with incredible runs. Regular season losses just don't bother me as much as they used to. This team is starting to gel and we're gonna be a force here in a month. Nobody is gonna want to play us!

I can't wait for the tournament. Yes we are a title contender. One of many, but that is all you can ask for year in and year out to be a contender and that we are IMO. I will be a nervous wreck as always. Starting with the first game. Don't matter is we play Uofnobody when that CBS music hits for our game. My stomach is in knots.

After the last 3 blowouts I dont think anyone wants to play UK right now!

What does it mean to " run out of competition"?

Hate to break it to you, but Skal may be nowhere near his potential this season. 6-8 pt Lee is pretty near the top of his game.

Poy will return soon I hope.

Jersey, pretty sure he meant run out of comp by winning it all.

If I was ranking teams THIS MOMENT I would do a top 10 of

1.KU
2. UNC
3.Nova
4.Xavier
5.UK
6.Maryland
7.Oklahoma
8.Miami
9.IU
10. WVU

And what is funny about this year is while KU is #1 imo I think UK would beat them 3/5 times .

You know Maryland just got waxed at home by a bubble team, right?

It all depends on our bigs contributing when it comes to rebounds, blocks, and defense. They have to at least be in the ballpark with our opponents in those areas. It's always going to be a struggle for this team to score in the post, so it's imperative for us to find other ways for our big men to be involved on offense, ways that play to their strengths. That being said, the offense is coming along nicely at the moment and should only get better, and I trust Ulis to get them involved at the right spot whether it be Willis for a 3 or the other big men for lobs.

Also, the way the game is called will have a big impact on how far this team goes. Some don't want to hear that, but it's the truth. In a free flowing game I feel like we're good enough to beat any other team in the country, and in a game where all of our bigs get in foul trouble (which is every game here lately) it's possible for us to lose to anybody.

I love the way the team is coming along as of right now and the good news for us (and bad news for everyone else) is there are no road games in the SEC and NCAA tournaments. March is a guard's game and I'll take our set over all others out there. If our guys bring the fight and heart to go along with the abilities I know they have, we're going to be a tough out for any team we play.

Of course we are and we always have been. All of this nonsense "we need Skal to be a beast" was just that. Nonsense. We have Tyler Ulis and Murray with some very good role players. I said even when we were losing. Given the right path, we could see a title.

Alabama just beat Florida at Florida. aTm is in a slump - although they could be up for us.
those two are not who I'm concerned about - it's actually Vandy. Not because they're a great team or anything, but our freshmen have never played in their gym, and it's disconcerting to say the least

A loss to a Wisconsin team on an uptick doesn't look as bad as a loss to a Tennessee team with a losing record. That loss was only 10 days ago.

They got smoked at home by Wisconsin. No way that looks good.

We blew a game a UT. But that isn't NOW. Now we are winning by 30 points a game, even on the road. NOW, Maryland got smoked at home.

Sorry if you don't like it, but RIGHT NOW, we are playing like a top 5 team.

In a tournament, how does one run out of competition? Hint: there is only one way.

As to your other comments, yes, that's the general idea. We disagree on Lee. His scoring is irrelevant. I could care less if he ever shoots again. His defense and rebounding can still improve dramatically.

Didn't say we aren't playing like a top 5 team. But to say Maryland does not deserve to be anywhere near #6 is a bit of a reach, IMO. It's cool we'll agree to disagree.

He had Oklahoma 7th after a narrow loss to Kansas. Maryland 6th after getting killed at home by a bubble team. Thought it was a weird ranking.
