We Are A Bad Match Up for South Carolina

So you have no idea what you are trying to say with your useless "facts". Your team has 3 so called "built in wins" every year as well. Even though they are not as built in for you as they would be for UK. Old Dominion, Akron and wofford this year. Real powerhouses. So what are you trying to to say? What argument are you trying to support with your so called facts?
South Carolina isn’t the worst fanbase in the SEC because there aren’t enough of them. But, the Gamecocks have always been the most delusional group. Any one of them will tell you they will win 9-10 games this season. They absolutely deserve Shane Beamer.

Nope….we have years where we open with someone like UNC. I haven’t bothered to look, but when’s the last time Kentucky opened the season with someone really tough or a game you were not heavily favored in? Out of conference that is

No? Lol. ...Denial. that powerhouse old Dominion would have beaten the mighty cocks if not for gifting them with 2 tds from turnovers inside their own 10 yard line. I'm still waiting for you to tell me what you're trying to prove with your so called facts. Apparently nothing. You have no actual facts to support anything so you're just throwing out random info hoping something sticks.

Since it matters what we do, I'm gonna bow my neck.
I'm going to stick my chest out and have my nuts ready to drag on something.
Drop your pearls. Let's go choke out those cocks!
GBB!
Not pearl-clutching. Just saying that when the community as a whole is like "whatever we got this" then that lack of urgency rubs off on the team.

If you've followed UK football closely for even a few years (in my case it's been three decades and counting) then you know we've often gotten a bit too high on our own success.

Beating Southern Miss doesn't mean it's time to assume that we will crush South Carolina (especially after they've beaten us the previous two times). Got it?

The question you really need to ask is are these facts actually random? Or do they have meaning ?

I don't think they are the most delusional any longer. Missouri fans think Missouri is the number 1 job in the country and Drink would be foolish to entertain any other job. They are ready to expand the stadium to 100k+. This was their response to someone suggesting UF might come after him.

I couldn't possibly have been more surprised or annoyed by Missouri's season last year. I don't want to give Drink any credit at all but I guess I have to? It's a close race between him and Beamer for #1 Chotch of the SEC.

Another thing that annoys me about South Carolina: Stop using the term “Beamer Ball” that originated with Frank Beamer at VT, a coaching legend.

I am too old to know what clotch means but I am going with clown and agreeing with you.

Missouri hot dome breaks last year and benefitted from no one taking them serious. Due to their schedule they have an excellent chance to be in SEC championship game. They got Bama and missed the other top teams. Why I wasn't a fan of dropping divisions. With divisions the 5th-6th best team didn't make it in.

Through last year he’s averaging 6.63 wins per year at Kentucky. Now mind you there are 3 to 4 Patsys on your schedule each year. Let that sink in. Yet he is considered an extremely good coach and your fans are afraid he will leave. Don’t shoot the messenger.

Edit: why do I feel like JD Vance spouting facts at Dana Bash?
Our younger fans forget how many losing and 2 win seasons we have had in last 50 years.

The old arrogance of Alabama, trophy case of Vandy with both SC and Mizzou. We owned Mizzzou for several years until last year's debacle. We were in control late into the 2nd quarter and they faked a punt that everyone at home and in the stadium could see was coming and screaming for a timeout to be ready for it, no timeout. Missouri gets it, scores, then a quick Leary turnover I think so two quick scores, and the wheels came off for really the whole season at that point.
USC even less excuse to lose to, Levis was hurt and missed that game two years ago, last year was just total ineptitude from the offense. It's disgusting because it's been a team that up until the we have owned. Our first win to start the streak was flukey, it was Stoops' first big win as UK coach when it was a Spurrier team. They had really outplayed us but Spurrier made the decision to keep passing when we couldn't stop the run and we scored 21 unanswered in the 4th quarter. After that we have beaten them down on both sides, no doubt who the better team was. We also had a loss in 2019 because we had no QB, Wilson was hurt and I can't remember the name of his replacement and I think even he played hurt and we were out of QBs. but the next game was Arkansas and we called up Lynn Bowden to take it over and a legend was born.

Lol...you can't even give me an answer... because you don't have one. I'll ask again. What are you trying to to prove or disprove with your "facts"? ....nothing.

OK since comprehension is not your thing I’ll lay it out for you. Beamer has this year and possibly next to get over the hump. In the 12 years, excuse me, 11 years plus one game, Stoops has averaged 6.63 wins per year. If that is what you strive for in your football team, then he’s your man. But the “building a program barometer” has passed for him so it appears your ceiling has been reached. I hope you keep him another 20.

If you can’t understand it then I can’t help you.
- your coach just started his 12 year averaging 6.63 wins per year
- you have 3 built in wins per year with scheduling (4 if you count Louisville who can be good one year and stinks the next)

You can interpret these useless facts any way you want.
I will tell you what I can understand, results in the last decade (10 years if you do not know what a decade is)
SC (58 wins / 5.8 per year)
2023 - 5 wins
2022 - 8 wins
2021 - 7 wins
2020 - 2 (TWO) wins
2019 - 4 wins
2018 - 7 wins
2017 - 9 wins
2016 - 6 wins
2015 - 3 wins (LOL)
2014 - 7 wins

UK (71 wins / 7.1 per year)
2023 - 7 wins
2022 - 7 wins
2021 - 10 wins
2020 - 5 wins
2019 - 8 wins
2018 - 10 wins
2017 - 7 wins
2016 - 7 wins
2015 - 5 wins
2014 - 5 wins

10 win season UK - 2 SC - 0
2 win seasons SC - 1 UK - 0
3 win seasons SC - 1 UK - 0
4 win seasons SC - 1 UK - 0
7 wins or more seasons - SC - 5 UK - 7
Bowl games - SC - 6 UK - 8

We opened with Oklahoma in ‘69 so take that smart ass.

Numbers don't lie.

Last 10 years : UK 7 wins SC 3 wins (70% winning %)

2014 - UK 45 SC 38
2015 - UK 22 SC 16
2016 - UK 17 SC 10
2017 - UK 23 SC 13
2018 - UK 28 SC 10
2019 - SC 24 UK 7
2020 - UK 41 SC 18
2021 - UK 16 SC 10
2022 - SC 24 UK 14
2023 - SC 17 UK 14

I like how you bring this up like South Carolina and every other team in the SEC isn't doing the exact same thing.

Or are we supposed to be more impressed by Wofford, Akron and Old Dominion? Did ODU scare you into thinking they were a quality team or something?

Hahaha, when was the last time you had 10 wins. When was the last time you went to a major bowl? Net stoops has done both multiple times since your team has done either. I have no problem with comprehension. You just have a major problem with putting your ignorant thoughts in writing. Thanks for exposing yourself. Wanted to make sure everyone knew you were trying to out down our team and coach. Thanks for laying that out for me and everyone else. So easy to manipulate the slow.

In 17 seasons at USCe, Hall of Fame Coaches Holtz and Spurrier combined for 119 wins, or 7 per season. . . the true height of South Carolina football, ALL TIME.

You know what’s missing from South Carolina’s trophy case after 120 years of football: trophies for the Orange, Cotton and Sugar Bowls. Next time you’re in Lexington, we’ll be glad to show you what they look like!!

My God, your second Bowl win came in the year 2000!!! And when the Cocks limp into minor bowls, they lose them . . . 10-15 All Time Bowl Record.

Kentucky’s second bowl win came 27 years before Shame Beamer was born, and we have a winning record in bowl games.

Here is my major concern: sc has a stud wr and we play our cbs based on field/boundary instead of matching up. Jq was once again not great in either man or zone. In man he got beat and in zone he was way too easily influenced by routes in front of him.

So sc can dictate very easily by formation what theyre getting. They can either bet their beast is going to beat our man cb in the boundary or run levels at jq to the field for some easy first downs. He already showed himself susceptible to that concept last night.

We badly need another cb to step up.
Who is their beast?? Leggett is gone. They got jack at WR.

Anyone counting SC as an automatic win or that we are going to boat race them needs to cool down. This will be a physical, close game. SC defense looks pretty good and opportunistic.

I hope we get after Sellers early. rFr in first road game. Can’t play off and let him get comfortable. Rattle him early and often.
I agree but that is not our coaching staff.
We will rush 3 and make him try to beat us with the pass. Hope he makes mistakes.
This is why backup QBs always tear us a new hole.
We never try to pressure them.
He will continue to break contain and probably run wild.
This game should not be close, but it will. IMO.

Every USC-UK game is a slugfest and usually a low scoring, physcial game. This has turned into a mini-rivalry ever since Stoops beat them in 2014.

Hey don't feel bad. 1969 ACC champs!

Does W-B stadium still have the Hall of Captains? I’ve been twice and never been to it. I like interesting stuff about other stadiums.

My concern is that Stoops' teams have usually played down to their underdog competition and up to their favored competition. I hope the team isn't looking past this game at all, nor thinking it will be anything but an SEC game. ALL SEC GAMES are tough, and it only makes them tougher when you underestimate your opponent for any reason.

He caught the vols the week Hooker got in a fight with a defender because of NIL and Chumlee left him home and a fjuke win against Clemson. And he is always throwing his kids under the bus.

Poor grumpy granny … you tell lies until you believe them to be true.

Hooker tore his knee up WHILE PLAYING in SC.

BTW….It’s widely rumored that Beamer got signals for Tennessee and Clemson from Michigan’s sign stealing coach that passed them to usc jr

…and throwing his kids under the bus is just another one of your lies with no proof

He had great players around him and Dusty was very accurate even though he didn't have a cannon. Mumme was 10-22 in the SEC, overall and well under .500 otherwise. Our memories are skewed because we were so jaded from the Curry years and he brought an exciting brand of offense, but his best year was only a 7 win season and that was with the #1 pick and a host of other NFL guys.
Mummes best years were his first two with Couch under center and Mike Leach as his OC. After Leach left, Mummes shine wore off.

We finished 60th of 114 (then) Div. 1-A programs in total defense in 1999.

Just outside the top half, but 11th of the 12 SEC teams then in the conference.

And although Dusty Bonner was our QB, we finished 13th in total passing yardage, nationally, the only statistic I can find where we were top 20, in 1999.

Yeah while the end was disaster and he came across a bit clownish in his last season, in some ways we don’t give Mumme enough of a nod for what he did do. The guy went .500 SEC in 2/4 seasons after taking over a 1 win team in an era there was no quick fix portal. Only 3 non con games to pad wins and 2 of those were IU and UL.

Winning 6 after couch left was an accomplishment especially with the roster build situations in f that time. Then running Bonner off for a freshman Lorenzen’s bigger arm to stretch the field was a mistake. Too much locker room issue and too many mistakes that year. Combine that with Bassett and we only remember that year.

OP must have meant the South Carolina Academy for Disabled Florists.

Kentucky is a cupcake for any organized major conference football team.

All I was saying was we need to take South Carolina seriously and not approach the game with arrogance. Turns out that was a fair point, right?
Man, I wasn’t addressing that toward you. I thought it was going to that tngamecock dude who asked the question. I apologize for the confusion.
