Nuances? Hell, just learn the elementary basics first. Astonishing how little so many posters on this board know about the game. I'm starting to believe it is purely emotional, the hatred, oh sorry, the impassioned dislike, for our coach. I get not liking Cal because of his personality or something, but to question his ability to coach just shows stupidity.
Excluding Ugonna, Wagner is the worst offensive player on the team- and he takes the second most shots. How is that ok for our starting point guard?

Nobody argues that DJ is better than Reed. It's clear to everyone that Reed has been a far superior player so far.
But for whatever reason, folks get a wee bit testy when suggesting that Reed and/or Dilly should start over him.
Personally, I don't really care who starts as long as Reed and Dilly eclipse 32 minutes a game once the competition starts to ramp up.

The reason is quite simple. To suggest that Cal is starting the wrong guys is to criticize him and there’s some folks on this board who can’t live with that.

Edwards has to sit, no way around it. I like the kid and was hoping for some big things from him but it's obvious he just doesn't have it and hurts us any time he's on the court. Maybe another year at UK and we might see what we were hoping for this year but it's time to show him the end of the bench this season.
Nobody seems to think he spends another year here. Even if he spends another year in college, he will probably spend it elsewhere.
I think everyone is ready to see what Thiero can do with 25-30mpg. that’s obviously not going to happen this year, but hopefully it happens next year. And I one would prefer the Edwards doesn’t stick around to cut into Thiero’s development.
I bet if DJ were honest, he'd say that someone has to play PG but he doesn't consider himself one.
I just want to point out that OP is actually JLoads. He is a Cal nut hugger, and any criticism of who CCC starts and gives meaningful minutes to is a criticism of CCC himself. The moment these two guys had a reasonable game he created this thread, but now he has nowhere to be found.
