You are right. He played a very good all around game tonight yet some "UK fans" on here still complain about him. Makes no sense that they seem to be hoping the kid fails. Edwards played better tonight but has much room to improve yet. Hope they both really begin to turn it on soon and we could be very tough, especially add in maybe a couple of our bigs to the equation.
I don’t think anyone’s pissed at DJ playing better, I think it has more to do with cal pulling Shepard and keeping DJ in and shep out in crunch time. Shep has been the overall better player by far at this stage but cal will be cal. No issues at all on my end with DJ being in but shep also has to be in as well. That was just idiotic coaching on Cals part the last 4:00 of regulation but idiotic coaching is really what he does best.
You serious? Not tryin b a smartass or anything but that's one those things Cal doesn't work on. Anything to do with shooting he has a dismissive attitude towards which I don't understand since you know he decided to be a basketball coach. He says that's for players to work on during their time. That's my biggest problem with the man as a coach. Mention shooting and he'll bring up defense. He won alot of games doing it his way but it could be so much easier on him if he'd get knockdown shooters and keep 1-2 around every year and then ppl may not have to go into work without fingernails 4-5 times a month from nervous chewing 😂.

I don’t care about who becomes a superstar. What I do know is that Wagner playing 36 minutes vs. 26 for Shepherd and Dilly isn’t justified. I’d argue that we would be unbeaten and wouldn’t have gone to OT tonight if the minute distribution were different. I don’t care who becomes a superstar - that’s Cal’s obsession. I care about UK winning championships - or at least having the opportunity to do so.

Yeah, that's one of the things that irked me. Dilly was open too. Crap happens. He's got a decent amount of assists already this year, so I"m chalking that one up to trying to do too much. Heck, Cal may have even told him to drive it (wouldn't shock me at all tbh.)
Cal did say post game that Wagner missed that pass to Reeves. I saw Cal look mad at Wagner when he didn't make that pass.

Perhaps but a lesser player would have received a hook instead of an angry look. Shep missed two defensive assignments and got sat during crunch time as a result, Wagner the same but remained in the game throughout. I have no issue with DJ staying in, just the preferential treatment given over someone who has clearly out performed him to this point. Check out the below and see who deserves the longer leash.
DJ had 36 minutes to Reed’s 26. Earned not given, right. Didn’t make sense to me. Reed did have 5 steals, but wasn’t looking to score for some reason.
