According to the Knoxville News Sentinel, "around 3:28 p.m. Sunday, police responded to a call at an apartment at 2030 Grand Ave. A man with a bloody, swollen mouth and missing teeth said he had been drinking with friends that live in the complex when he went to get items from a vehicle, according to the arrest warrant. The man said when he returned, he accidentally went to the wrong building. He knocked on the door but no one answered. So he opened the unlocked door and entered the apartment."

Happened to me once. Lot of drinking at the parties I went to before I got married. This one party I was at I had been to a party at these two girls apartment the week before so when one of the girls (she was a sheriffs deputy and the drunk girl worked at my company) asked me to take her home I said fine, I was ready to leave, and being at their party the week before I knew where the apartment was. She passed out as soon as she got in the car, and I could never get a response from her, so I took her 'home". No one told me they had moved that week.
When I got to her apartment still no response so I got her keys from her purse and tried the key at the door, but it didn't work, but I had pressed on the door, and it opened so I started in and this BIG guy came out of the bedroom with violence on his mind. As I was backing up, he slammed the door in my face, it closed just as it hit my forehead and nose, could have done a lot of damage, but didn't. I took her to my apartment and threw her on the bed and went to sleep. She woke me up the next morning with "where am I" so I told her about it and took her home.
I have always been glad that it was a big guy, a little guy might have had a gun and would have been justified in shooting me.
I had just had my first drink at 27 the year before so I couldn't handle drinking very well, at least not like I drank that night, and it almost ended badly for me that night. So it can happen.
