Why do so many Ohio State quarterbacks put up insane numbers in college but never pan out in the league?
IMO it has a little to do with the conference. OSU has so much more talent than any other B10 team, that most of the time they don't have to throw into a narrow window. OSU QBs have elite OL blocking for them, elite WRs who are often the fastest players on the field so they don't get a ton of pressure put on them and they don't have to throw into tight windows. So most times they only have to look at their first option and throw it to that person. Very few OSU QBs were able to get through all their progressions once they got into the NFL, it just seems the game moves too fast for them. Whereas when they were at OSU they had a pretty clean pocket every play and usually their #1 target was open due to superior speed and talent at WR.
