Not good at all. It's especially bad when you consider and couple this with the other things Pitino has done or said lately. Specifically as it relates to having a mini NBA combine and the comments he made last week on 93.9 in an interview with Perrin Johnson. I am paraphrasing here, Louisville is recruiting or looking to bring in 5 star recruits and 5 star people. I believe he stated, "we have changed our recruiting." Someone else that maybe heard this interview as well can maybe clean this up, but looking back those comments made during that interview are strikingly odd considering the news today.

What changed? I mean obviously Louisville has recruited 5 star talent. They have landed some and lost some, but those comments along with the combine seem oddly strange now.

I may be reaching here. It's just seems strange that a coach of Pitino's stature would change his approach this drastically at this stage of his career.

Funny how this occurs around the time adidas extends a 160 million dollar contract to UL.

Terry Meiners stated Rick Pitino text him stating "I don't know what the hell is going on."

Sound familiar?

Apparently dude doesn't know shit. Send him to a home, he's clearly suffering from dementia.

Is this serious? Not sure how many times he can try to draw from that well....

Pitino's shot himself and the Louisville program in the foot so much, that he's just said "fu*k it" and started paying recruits. A desperate tactic for a desperate man.

Pitino only cares about Pitino. He probably knew he was on his last few years and wanted a swan song to go off on. I think he desperately wanted to win one more before calling it quits and was willing to do whatever it took.

I also blame the Louisville media for creating this culture. I moved out of KY about a year ago, but grew up in Louisville. The media gave Jurich, Pitino, and co a free pass on everything. They were never held accountable and they never had to explain themselves. As long as UL was winning and the media got their press passes, everyone was happy. They thought they could do anything, even dumb enough to pay a recruit while on probation.

I guess with a contract with adidas paying $160 million it included cash for recruits.

Dont you all find it ironic, the sting to get UofL/Pitino happened in a motel room? and isnt this about how they got Sypher on tape as well?..lmao

Ding ding ding. Winner

Always, always walk away while you're ahead. Pitino should have left after 2013.

Thank God for the Celtics.
