I tell you what, I'm impressed with Vanderbilt, they will not go away. They play hard, they run good stuff, their defense is not making it easy for Bama to score and they rebound well.

Bama is up 19 now, but Vandy keeps coming back.

I really hope Pope figures something out to change the narrative on defense this week. We are dead last in a lot of categories. We would be last in a lot of other conferences too. That's kind of disturbing.

Not watching but the first paragraph did not have me expecting the second one.

Keep in mind, this is @ Alabama, we are playing them in Nashville and like I said a minute ago, they had it at 10.

IDK, maybe I'm being paranoid. Our defense is pretty damn bad.

Yeah, they had a bit of life for about half a second and then Bama snuffed it out. Regardless of how good they are we have to play in that abomination they call a gym. Our best teams have always had a hard time winning there.

Yeah......Bama is killing them. Bama may win a title this year. lol, Bama and Auburn for the title. And that will kill CBB ratings for the Final.

Uconn vs San Diego state was pretty awful but yeah, that would be a regional viewership for sure lol

Cats better be ready at Vandy or we will be looking at a 3 game losing streak

Fighting their asses off to cut it to under 20 lol seriously OP

Got it to 8 and Sears draws a flop head bob foul call and then another on a push off where he fell down. Sears is strong but he gets a lot of suspect calls to say the least.
I tuned in and saw that and just turned it right back off. If he doesn't have a rubber neck, he probably sleeps in a frozen neck brace. Gets more calls (and non-travel calls) than probably anyone.

I will be more than ready to see Sears, Broome and Ziegler gone after this year.

Can’t stand Sears. He gets away with traveling via jumping in the air and landing before he gets rid of the ball 2-3 times every game, as well as the stuff you mentioned.

Yeah. He does seem to be mighty good at getting rid of it before landing despite seemingly playing well below the rim…

And I’m not advocating for them to call offensive fouls on him but just no calls.

Agree...I watched that game and Vandy played in your face defense the whole game. They made every Tennessee possession painful- why in the world are we unable to do what most any other team can do? And it isn't that Vandy just has more talent and foot speed.

Yeah, I would understand it if our defense was middle of the road, but it's so bad, the ESPN analysts took the time during the MSU/UT halftime last night to highlight just how bad we are.
Our defense isn't just the worst in the SEC, it would be the worst defense in almost every power 6 conference and that's bad.
0-5 Arkansas has a better defense. I totally get we don't have 5 Deandre Liggins' out there, but when we are the worst defense out of 6 total conferences, it's not the players. This might be Pope's weakness.
On his call-in show, he kept talking about defending without fouling. I get that, but that's only part of the problem. We have to pressure the ball, play with our hands up, trap and get physical. Shoot, we may have the same problem next year, only with different players. It's a system thing.

Yep, when we got it to 8, Sears got two straight mystery calls and it’s game over just like that. Bama is damn good, they don’t need any help from the refs but they got it all night long. I don’t think the refs cost us the game but I do think Bama got most of the calls and that led to the margin of victory in a more tightly contested game than the score indicated.

Sears is a wizard, really fantastic player but refs struggle with him because he does the head flop on any contact, legal or otherwise.

Looking forward to game in Memorial Gym Saturday, fellas. Big game for both teams.

9 times out of 10 it seems that he is the one who initiates the contact and then flails his way to getting a foul call in his favor. I hate to watch someone play the game of basketball in such a way. He would still be a good player if he didn't flop around like a fish out of water.
