Absolutely. I’ll be honest. I’m torn on Roger Williams. There’s no doubt he’s a great pitching coach. And he done great things with that staff. But, never been a head coach before sorta worries me. Plus, has he ever been a candidate for a head coaching job? If not, makes you wonder why. Bakich would be my first, second and third call. Maybe even my fourth.
I agree. We seem to have wrapped it up after last Saturday’s game with Florida. I wonder if the team didn’t think the coaches had their backs. Who knows but the team hasn’t been the same since that game. It’s obvious something isn’t right.
I guess he'd be OK, also has Deep South experience. It's just that Bakich has experience both with Clemson and Vandy programs, two of the best around.
That old UK argument that you can’t do well in baseball due to being too far north has proven to be BS. Michigan, Indiana, Vandy and Louisville have all done well this year and prior years as well. I would be shocked if Barnhart makes a change but if there are a bunch of internal issues you can bet the farm Barnhart knows about it. Baseball parents complain a ton in tee ball so I can only imagine what goes on at the D1 level.
Link Jarrett is someone I forget about it. Would be a good hire. Chad Holbrook is another name I’d like to see get a phone call.
As someone who played baseball and has coached and unpired, can confirm about baseball families. If there is an eternal problem, Barnhartt has heard about it.
There is definitely something going on with the internals of this team. I remember watching that Florida game on Saturday and just thinking that UK wanted to do everything except play that game. You could even tell this weekend something was off.
By the way, I had originally stated that I thought there were 6 seniors/graduates on the baseball team that were not recognized on Senior day, but I was mistaken. There were 9. I want to correct that so that they are recognized here and so we know for sure who those guys are:

I’ve coached some youth all star teams that rarely got beat...yet, I still had parents complaining their kids aren’t playing in the right position, etc. I’ve also coached losing teams and it was horrible all around. KY is doing some losing right now and I can almost guarantee Mingione has been lit up by some parents and if they think they are not getting anywhere they’ll go straight to Mitch.
That Florida team and coach actually punked Mingione!!! He should have gotten kicked out standing up for HIS team!!! No excuse for that!!😤😤😤😤
I am still miffed about this. Also, by the fact that Mingione lost his shit this weekend on the the 'do over,' call and was way more animated about that then anything that happened in the Florida series, where he absolutely should have made them throw him out.
