Butler sounds like he is alot closer to being back than Robinson. This is the first Robinson update that isn’t great at all.

Is that what Butler has, a labrum tear?I’m sure Butler will have surgery at some point. They can nurse a labrum tear but it won’t heal on its own. Not for playing basketball 100% anytime soon anyway. Terrible injury luck for the Cats this year.
That's the speculation but nothing definitive has been said by the team.Is that what Butler has, a labrum tear?
It sounds like we will get Butler at some point. That’s good because without him we are going to struggle to do much of anything the rest of the year.Honestly don’t expect either back, but hoping for the best
And with the number of big wins we had it was a great showcase for what Pope’s system looks like for future recruits/transfers. We’ll be able to get away with hand waving the loses away based on the injuries too. We were able to get the freshmen some good experience too. Pretty successful campaign all things considered. They are Kentucky's best two players. It is what it is. This was a stopgap season anyway. Fortunately, Kansas has not gained any games on us. Kentucky at least held serve and will make the tournament. It was not a disaster season. It would have been if Calipari had stayed, however.
Somewhat encouraging on Butler. Looks like he will be back at some point. Just becomes a matter of limiting the pain.
As for Robinson, news doesn't seem that great. Hopeful he comes back, but if he doesn't, sucks to know my lasting memory will be of Pope bringing him back off the bench when he was clearly injured against SCAR when UK was up by 20 points toward the end of the second half.
It just sucks because this season had the potential to be so much more than that. If this team were healthy they're probably a 2 seed in contention for a 1 seed. Pope's done an incredible job with this group so far, but there's only so much you can do when you're down you're top 3 PGs and had another key player out or hobbled for a third of the season. This was a stopgap season anyway.

Lmao! Who gives a damn about Kansas and wins.. What about getting outta the first weekend of the damn tournament? Always something about ( all time wins shii ) lol .. Not being a prick, but damn… We haven’t made a final four in forever bro. Ain’t NOBODY lookin at UK like a powerhouse right now. I’m focused on getting back there bro 🤨They are Kentucky's best two players. It is what it is. This was a stopgap season anyway. Fortunately, Kansas has not gained any games on us. What about this being/him saying this is Pope’s first year and a total transition year for UK do you not understand?Lmao! Who gives a damn about Kansas and wins.. I understand 👍 can do without all the other stuff, that’s all..What about this being/him saying this is Pope’s first year and a total transition year for UK do you not understand?
I'm with this guy.. it's about the final four weekend and being there is always the bar we want to set. Not for sure if my heart would be able to take a final four weekend but sure would like to test it out sooner rather than later.Lmao! Who gives a damn about Kansas and wins.. Yeah. Butler HAS to be back or we are almost a lock for a first round exit.Butler is the more important piece. We need a PG. If we can get him back this time next week and win a game or two, that would be huge.
At this point, just keep Jrob out until the NCAAT.
I would be afraid rust would set in if they sat that long.Sit them both until the NCAA tournament and then let them give what they can.
Butler will be back by Oklahoma it sounds like or is trying to beSit them both until the NCAA tournament and then let them give what they can.
You can't just expect them not to play for a month then come out and expect us to win. They have to get some game reps to get back into rhythm BEFORE the ncaa tournament. From my viewpoint you take the money and run at this point. Don’t play either of those two a minute or Carr either until the NCAAT. If you’re lucky you may squeak by the first game without them even then.
Leaves a very very small chance, and in my opinion our only chance, to catch fire very late a make a deep run.
We’ve already proven we can’t do it without all those guys healthy. So why get them beat up more over the next seven to nine games just to tease ourselves?

Sounds like Jax is done.

I guess anything is possible but Jax isn't Bird and Larry wasn't shooting threes that game.Larry Bird played most of a game left handed and did pretty good, maybe there is hope. ;-).
He's also the most likely to be drafted.Sounds like Jax is done.
Yeah if we could get Larry, he could probably still go for 16 and 10.Larry Bird played most of a game left handed and did pretty good, maybe there is hope. ;-).
There’s not too many Larry Bird’s around. (I see your humor there)Larry Bird played most of a game left handed and did pretty good, maybe there is hope. ;-).
It sorta has been. What a kick in the balls if this season gets derailed due to injuries. Damn.
It sucks man, I really love this team. Please good lord get these guys healthy! What a kick in the balls if this season gets derailed due to injuries. Damn.

In an ideal situation, absolutely. You can't just expect them not to play for a month then come out and expect us to win. They have to get some game reps to get back into rhythm BEFORE the ncaa tournament.
I respect that opinion. For my money, if it makes the difference of our key guys being at 60% or being at 90%, I’d rather be a 10 seed. As a 10 seed, if we win two games—BAM—-suddenly we’re the 2 seed. There are no 2 seeds I fear this year on a neutral court if we are mostly healthy. It’s cool for you to see it your way though. We have to get a couple more wins and that won't be easy without both Butler and Robinson.
If we were to lose out and enter the tourney at 17-15, we're looking at a 10 seed at best or playing in Dayton.
