UNC puts "Stu" on jerseys, shouts Booyah after every made 3

Normally, with any other D1 school, there is only one way to see this: Respectable, thoughtful, moving, etc.

But as a cynic I can't help but think UNC** is using this is a rallying cry to amp up their basketball players for a big game. When the entire program, from top to bottom, has zero ethics.. I wonder about a season in jeopardy with a big game against a ranked opponent, and just how far a school like UNC would go to get the win.

I wonder if their bowling team will do the same..

Because they are potentially "playing for a greater purpose". It's now an emotional game. Win one for Stuart! I'm not sure if they are doing it, not even sure if it would work.. most UNC players couldn't spell his name. But it's not hard to see the positive effects this could have.

I can't get on board with this. I hate UNC living here in Greensboro but this is a very cool guesture for a alumn that many people grew up watching. He just lost his life to cancer. In my opinion it has nothing to do with unc's lack of integrity but moreso as a tribute to Stu. Think how proud his family would be to go/turn on the unc game and see the arena screaming his trademark "BOYAH" after a made 3.

That being said, I hope UNC loses by 50 and there entire athletic program is shut down.

They were just turrible in the second half. Just turrible. Could not get a freaking defensive rebound...bet they gave up 12-14 second chance points in the second half alone.

That they managed to hang on to win is a more a testament to UNC***'s ineptness than ND's skill. Their defense is horrific.

UNC should honor him...but if they announce "boo-yah's" all year after every three it will quickly become a mockery. Hopefully UNC keeps it brief and tasteful, surprised they dint have a banner made, they like banners...they print those things like Charmin makes TP... but if they have a sports hall of fame at UNC he belongs in it for his contributions to sports entertainment as a whole.

In all seriousness I will miss Stuart Scott though, best ESPN broadcaster by a long shot in my time. Called the games and highlights like a fan wanted to hear it.

All the new additions are lousy. They seem to hire only extreme stereotypes, radio shock-jock attention whores, or just the next 5'5" blonde fembot in line to host that looks good on camera, and when they try to call games or highlights its not funny, comes off forced and fake...someone with Stu's natural charm and wit doesn't have a chance of getting on the air these days. He and Chris Burman are a dying breed, enjoy them while there here. Made sports more fun to watch.

I never cared for Stu's act, but if you listen to the way people who work for ESPN talk about him, it's clear he was a great, great guy. They say before he got to ESPN when he was working local TV, he was the guy that was the life of the party. Not in terms of getting drunk, but the one that organized everybody getting together - made everyone feel welcome. It sucks he died.
