Apparently they didn’t grant a waiver for a football player who is making his 2nd transfer to UNC. UNC fans and college media are outraged. I guess when you get away with fake classes and academic fraud for decades there’s a certain expectation of special treatment you expect.

Not a fan of UNC at all but, this decision is senseless. If this is an example of the new leadership at the NCAA, we will probably see many more head shakers in the future. I say this while many of us are very confused about our own local decisions, or lack of decisions, concerning the eligibility of a foreign player.

It’s worse than incompetence, it’s actual malicious in nature and meant to cause harm to the average person.
I try to believe that most of it is not malicious. Some of it is for sure. I still try to believe in my heart of hearts that most people are good. But it's getting hard for sure.

Probably revenge for UNC getting lawyered up and d*ckslapping them a few years ago over the football investigation.

People with power aren’t good at all. Even at the small level. It’s a fun thought but it’s proven over and over again.

You think the NCAA president makes these decisions and not a committee full of college presidents, ADs, and conference commissioners?
😂 You think the NCAA President has no override when a committee does something as bonehead and unjust as wrecking a kid's life for supposedly breaking a rule two days before the rule was implemented?

New NCAA President is trying to curb transfers and eligibility, but this was horrible place to start. Eligibility Announcement was made after his transfer. The kid didn’t play at 1st school because of Covid. His entire coaching staff left from his 2nd school. Both previous schools have advocated for his eligibility.

I’m all for curbing multiple transfers, but this was a bad place to start. You’d think they would make this kind of announcement before end of spring semester and not a fall semester after students are on campus.

Imagine getting a speeding ticket in the mail because camera caught you going 60 mph. You go to court because you KNOW the limit was 65 mph. But, the judge says “we changed the limit on that road to 55 mph a few days AFTER your ticket. However, you still get penalized because of new rules even though it didn’t go into effect until after you were there.

NCAA keeps finding ways to make horrible decisions that destroy their reputation. Coaches are ripping them, and now broadcasters are ripping them. (Herbstreat ripped them during SC game.) Guarantee you it will be Main talking point through out the season.

I thought the new president had a chance to improve their reputation. He just made a terrible PR move, and college football is close to pulling away from NCAA.

No, the NCAA president has nothing to with such cases. The committees do. If your team gets a bad seed, it’s not the NCAA presidents fault, it’s on the selection committee.

Yeah I saw that. After the gift they got, they can STFU.

We have no leadership at any level of American society right now. And the goes for both sides of the aisle. We are a country led by incompetence and greed. And those two together are a bad combination.
Great points. Couldn’t have said it better myself. This country is on a bad path.

I get the UNC hate, but this unjust treatment happened to several CFB players. A linemen at Colorado was denied, Prime went off on the ncaa as well. Former UK & Lexington quarterback Beau Allen was denied & is ineligible after 2nd transfer to South Georgia.

Ncaa is garbage and the morons in Indianapolis are only building their own gallows. Power schools are counting down the days when they slice the ncaas throat and create their own governance org.

The UNC Chancellor and several other school presidents wrote the guidelines and voted this rule in. Why not hold them accountable instead of blaming the nameless NCAA?

You also posted this on the basketball board. Why do we care if UNC is mad at the NCAA?

I only posted this on the basketball board, it got moved to the football board. I posted it on the basketball board because our rivalry with UNC is in basketball. I don’t have any memories of playing them in football.

I care because it’s ironic. They got away with decades of academic fraud and cheating in multiple sports and now they’re mad.

I see your point about irony, but it was water over the dam a long time. There is a football game today, and important football and basketball recruiting activities ongoing. Living in the present is more fun.

As sad as this is, they were the last non-conference Power 5 conference team we have played not named Louisville or Indiana. It wasn't this century. Not even close.

Beau Allen should not still be playing football so I’m glad it was denied. These 28 year olds in college is absolutely stupid. And weird.

Kid should have been given a waiver by both of his previous schools and the NCAA, considering the situation. If the coach at his new school wasn't a jerk who puts his foot in his mouth, maybe he gets it.

It's the National Capricious Athletic Association so what did anyone expect?

Deion Sanders will be coaching at his 3rd school in 5 years soon. No one will say jack about it except congratulations Coach Sanders. Nothing says, "It's all about the student athletes," like letting coaches take new jobs while the student athletes have to stay put. Absolutely hypocritical, and 190% has NCAA written all OVER IT.
