UL FB Player Arrested on Drug, Assault Charges

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A University of Louisville football player was booked into Metro Corrections early Sunday morning on assault and drug charges.

Terrence Ross, 21, was arrested on charges of assault of a police or probation officer, disorderly conduct and possession of marijuana. He was booked into custody at 1:37 a.m.

Rocco Gasparro, a spokesman for the football program, said they were aware of the situation but were still gathering information. "Terrence Ross has been suspended, and the matter will continue to be evaluated," he said.

The safety came to Louisville in 2013, but tore his ACL in fall practice and redshirted for a year. He played in three games for the Cards in 2014, recording five tackles and returning two kicks for a total of 28 yards, according to the UofL athletics website.

Ross was released from jail after posting $1,000 bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday.

Ross was also arrested in November 2014 on a criminal mischief charge. According to a police report, he damaged the door of a residence near the University of Louisville campus in March when he rammed it with his shoulder. A hearing regarding that case was already scheduled for Wednesday

This should be interesting. With both safeties going pro, he had a very good chance of starting. Two arrest in just a couple months time, most teams would boot him. But UL needs him, which usually equates to being reinstated.

This is just his second arrest, he still has one more to spend before the ul staff does anything with him. Heck he might get a medal for his good deeds work in the community.

Sounds like a candidate for team captain to men

Hell he may be elected captain by coaches and teammates. A little harsh aren't we, he only was arrested a couple of months ago.

IMO

UK's had more arrests under Stoops than UL has in the same time....seen that one about a hundred times on twitter last night

But then we have this case where Ross was arrested in November and not a peep from the Louisville media. It didn't happen as far as they were concerned, and wouldnt have come to light without him acting out yet again. They have this town's media on lockdown unlike any other college town in the country.

Of course a UL troll would use a thread about a UL player in legal trouble to try and turn the discussion onto UK instead

Hear that a lot too, but aren't like 6 of UK's "arrests total" for kids acting stupid and running around with a BB gun?

Not really on the same level as your typical arrest.

I am sure after Rocco and the UofL athletic department "gather more information", the end result will be that the arresting officer was a UK fan with an axe to grind. Isn't that their excuse each time one of their players gets arrested?

No, they were airsoft guns, which are made to shoot one another unlike a BB gun.

Yep, in the morning paper right after the page about the UL player having a cheerleader die in his housing unit.

This is only because UL can bury them and keep them out of the media. When you factor this in, they have way more than UK.

He'll be Bobbies special project thats turned his life around before September. They'll get rid of him once he's recruited over and next thing you know he'll be robbing gas stations with an Uzi in North Carolina while the Cardinal message board speculates he only needed the cash to save his kidnapped sister.

Yep. I am sure Petrino will have him caddie a few times once the weather warms up and he will be a changed man.

I know of a UL basketball walk-on that was arrested a few years back. He called Pitino from jail and was bailed by someone in the athletic dept the same night only a couple of hours after getting there. This was also kept off the radar. Jails don't work that way I've never heard of anyone getting out the same night they go in. Jurich has the LMPD and the local media under his thumb

What!

A UK player kidnapped his sister?

UK must have covered that up, I hadn't heard that part before.

No, they'll simply state publicly how they "respect the judicial system, but just simply disagree with their judgment about whether their player actually broke any laws".

It's essentially what they did with Clint Hurtt, so they might as well stick with their shameless win at all costs attitude until it produces a homicide in the metro area.

"I don't condone the behavior but he didn't get drunk and wreck like the UK guy."

"You guys are just as bad. Let me list the coaches who have left and got arrested."

"Terrance Jones kicked a homeless guy and you're on us about some drug charges."

There UL lurkers. I just posted all your excuses you use on here so you don't have to.
You're Welcome.

Why was there no report on his first arrest? I guess if you're at ul, the comical journal doesn't bother on the first one because they know they'll be another one coming sooner or later.

Which is why you should come back against any UofL homer who claims that UK's had as many or more arrests over the past couple of seasons with the counter that we don't even know about all of the UofL arrests apparently.

Come on guys. THis is a non-story. You know he was probably just holding the drugs for a friend like Gorgui or Mango or whoever it was was doing at Derby. The cop he punched probably instigated the whole thing. UofL will review the facts and agree to disagree with the police and claim that the law is stupid. He will do a little caddie work this spring and be a changed man. I don't know why this is even a story. We've seen this song and dance before. Move along. Plus we all know the police officer had to be a UK fan with an axe to grind. Everytime their players get in trouble, it because of UK cops looking to make UofL look bad.

I am sure UofL will spend the same 10 minutes they spend investigating the Teddy Bridgewater autograph issue and will ask the player just as they did with Teddy.

UofL athletic staffer: Did you do it?
UofL football player: No.

UofL press release and Courier Journal story: After an exhaustive investigation into the incident that occured this weekend, we have found said player did nothing wrong. We asked him if he did it and he said no. Case closed.

Top 5 dirtiest athletic departments.

As this proves yet again, no telling what shenanigans we never hear a peep about.

Fballcats, way to tell on yourself for being a Tard troll yet again... dummy.

Did I see that he was a freshman,21years old,something doesn't sound right.

^ here they come. Misserable little fringe of existence UofLsucksville fans trying to correct what we say and justify their existence. Go on back to your looserville board and discuss your thug players there zipp wana be. Look who their mentors are when it comes to head coaches. Why wouldn't a player feel like they can do any thing they want to.
