My favorite part of Texas is up around the Electra/Iowa Park (pronounded I Way) and over to Palo Duro.

Also iirc monty lives in dallas. Or maybe i just deduced that from it being a metro about 3-4 hours away from Midland. Not sure they ever said specifically.
Monty lives in Ft. Worth. They showed TCU's stadium and he said his daughter stayed home to go to TCU.

Also, I learned that Midland is named that because it's halfway between DFW and El Paso.

No wonder BBT has so many issues in the show. If I had a daughter and Ex-wife like he has, being an alcoholic would be the least of my problems. I literally laughed for 1/2 hr at BBT's facial expression after his conversation with his daughter at the football game.

I'm torn on it so far. Love BBT and Hamm, but so far not enough Hamm and too much of BBT's insufferable daughter, ex and his incredibly gullible son. In addition, Monty might want to invest in a better safety training program for his workforce.

Last few years it's been hard for me to want to sit down and watch a show on a weekly basis. Justified and Breaking Bad was a few that was never to be missed. Yellowstone kick us in the nuts so I moved on. 6666 will be decent I'm sure but its probably not gonna draw me in. Landman so far is easy to like and BBT is one of my favorites that just puts Landman on a best show available right now. It's only a 10 episode season though.

T is just passable for us. Surprised we stuck it out.
It is "OK", but the Aussie actors and cringe worthy. Terrible acting. I gave up with the kid burning the car and all of the silly stuff that followed.

Yeah, not much action in this last episode. The ending seemed ominous though. The son is about to become a big problem for Tommy and Monty. That should provide some fireworks soon.
I thought the same, kinda blah. I do love the show, and BBT plays his part perfectly.

I'm betting Tommy's ex-wife, soon to be wife again, doesn't even consider telling him about the 300,000 dollars in her bank account that she got to keep. That's her "bug-out" fund. Also, I'm wondering if that was really "wine" in the two bottles that she boosted on her way out.

Starting to become MEH for me. BBT is perfect but way too much ex wife and daughter. So many better characters and issues to focus on than for those 2 to have such a prime location on this show.

Exactly. Im all for t&a but it is bizarrely over the top in this show. All the much more interesting characters and storylines are completely neglected.

I'm liking it so far and BBT is smooth in this role. I'm also a girl dad of a 19 year old and so far I'm lucky enough to not have his problems. It's easy to watch with no wasting moments like he did on Yellowstone with the Cowboy stuff and rodeos.

I'm seeing, and this is just my opinion mind you; a "family" operation (the Norris' staked, in part, by the 3 families, that are now sitting on 3 million dollars) led by Cooper, and eventually Tommy, once Monty gets sidelined due to heart/stroke issues (with Demi taking over))

This also might explain why they explicitly mentioned that Tommy's ex is sitting on 300,000 dollars; so that they can call it back as a plot device.

I think they'll pull something backdoor on MTex.

I don't know if you noticed it, but when Monty was negotiating with what's his name (old dude that needed credit, and front-ended percentages as collateral), he stepped out and called Tommy. During that call, he lied to Tommy about the split, to the tune of 5 percent. I think that is going to be, in SOME manner, "Norris Oil's" opening.

It's going to be SOME variation on that eventually, because Tommy isn't going to be happy working for Monty. It's clear that he's fed up with him already.
