UL-Auburn

Do you feel better now? Try supporting your own team with that energy. I've been civil here.
Actually you won't see much support for UK around here, mostly just bored basketball fans who couldn't give 2 ishes about UK FB. Just look at the thread list. There are almost as many threads at the top of the list, because of the high post count, that have UL as the subject as threads that are UK related. Wildcat Lair has become The Crunch Zone South because some supposed UK fans are more obsessed with UofL than their own team. Just look around, there are two very popular game threads on here right now. Most boards just have one game thread, of the team the board belongs to, but Wildcat Lair usually has two every week of almost equal interest and post counts.... a UK game thread, and a UL game thread. It's a strange world these days.

I still can't decide whether I just dislike you because of the way you trash us on your site or the smell you bring? I guess it's both.
For a guy complaining about the noticeable smell while typing on his home computer, I am happy to remind you to go with the latter.

My question to the Kentucky Fan base is this...based on yesterday Louisville -Auburn game how do you feel you match up with both upcoming opponents

Once again UofL shows they can compete with he big boys on the national stage. That game yesterday did nothing but help their program. I have an unhealthy hate for UofL but they seem to shine or are at least competitive in national spotlight games.

Having said that Auburn should've won by 28+. I hope they sh!t the bed like that when they come to Commonwealth.

Do you think this is an easy question?

First, it was week one. Assessments made for the season after week one are usually ridiculous.

Second, we still do not know how good Auburn or UL are. I see young skill talent for UL, but also know Auburn did not throw a bunch of stunts and blitzes at its line, but still won. For Auburn, does Johnson make those throws every week? I sure hope so. Will Jackson have a more difficult time when teams game plan for him? Too many questions.

UK needs to get its stuff ironed out before looking ahead. The fans would be wise to do the same.

USC on the road is going to be and SEC opponent on the road. UK needs to work hard this week for that game.

Understand that...just wanted an initial assessment of two common opponents coming up and since we seen both teams actually play

Auburn especially early didn't have to throw anything special at the Louisville OL since basic bull rushes did the trick.

Cats should be much improved for 2nd game as most teams are. Also USC looked worse than they looked last year. Playing in that 80000 seat nut house won't be easy though. Good luck. We would like to beat a good UK team for a change this year

They were. Once UL got back into it, it shook the UL coach to the core. So much so, he called a timeout with the clock stopped.

Maybe he was thinking of skanks and motorcycles.
That Bobby is a genius I tell ya. Did you see that offensive juggernaut he put on the field yesterday? According to UL fans, he can take a bunch of 2 star players and turn them into NFL draft picks, and as long as he's coaching UL, offense and quarterback play won't be a problem. :flush:

USC didn't look worse than they did in their opener last year when they were blown out by A&M. They didn't look great, but they held an experienced offense that scored nearly 40 points a game last year with 9 returners to 13 points. Their offense isn't world beaters, or wasn't Thursday night anyway, but it was the first real playing time for a new qb against a P5 team. I thought their defense was much better than last year, not great tacklers but they had some DL who are pretty good players and made plays behind the LOS.

Louisville improved as the game went alone, the change at qb made them tough to deal with. Next team will know what he is, but knowing and stopping him are 2 different things, the world's greatest DC didn't come up with the answer at halftime. Kid is heck of an athlete, a difference maker who you have to account for every play, I don't know if he can make those throws every week or not, but if you adjust to his running ability there will be less in coverage. Glad we don't have to scheme to defend him. AU on the other hand was overrated like I thought, Johnson made some throws, but he also threw 3 ints and allowed UL to get back in the game. They might be a little better defensively than last year, but that DL can put 3 5* out there at one time and still got dominated late in the game, UL was having their way with them. UL's coaching staff took away any chance of winning the game with that time out call, so that was good to see. AU won, but they didn't look like a team expected to win the SEC, 4-5 loss team. UL will very likely win more games than them .

Earlier in the summer I said ULLa wasn't your typical cupcake team, that they knew how to win and were coming expecting to win unlike the teams UGA, UF, OM, Missouri and UT played who were coming to grab a big check. I thought UK would win but the game would be much closer than expected. But was told by many that UK had too much talent and it would be a blow out. It turned out like I thought it would and many UK fans are complaining about a win and everyone is wanting to see what the backup qb can do. He is the backup for a reason, because the coaching staff thinks starter gives them a better chance for a win. I have no idea if they are right or wrong, but neither does anyone else posting on this board because not a person here has seen the backup in a college game. Towles beat him out last year, and with a new OC beat him out again this year.

Never quite got this desperate need to hate UL.... I care about UK winning. I give less than a rat's rear about what UL does unless they're playing us. No one seriously give this much attention to someone they honestly feel is beneath them.......so let THEM talk about US. We got the SEC teams to think about.

I know how you feel. Beating the tards in basketball has become as exciting as beating Morehead. It should be better this year since Rick says he has 7 pro players on his team. As far as football, UL the last few years has been a product of ShowCause Hurt cheating to get your commuter school players. Now the field is even and let's see what happens this year. You bird brains act like coming close to Auburn is some great feat. Hell, It took a last second field goal for the national champion Auburn to beat UK in 2010. Big deal. A loss is a loss.

UL may have gained 20 yards between the tackles. The qb looked good for a Fresh, but now teams can plan for it. Until he can pass, he is a bad hit from Bonafon getting some rest and coming back in.

UL had some good things late, UK had some good things late. I actually thought both teams played about to potential. ULL was and is always overrated, as was Auburn. Looking forward to next week.

How can anyone take seriously a claim that ULL is always over-rated?

I don't get it either. Seems like the rabid UL obsession really shifted into high gear when UK whiffed on hiring BP. Some of these posters, original and otherwise, really need to examine why they're so interested and consumed with what UL is doing. Like you said UK has its hands full enough with SEC competition for a true fan to look elsewhere for excitement and enchantment. I wouldn't doubt some of the people who left the Kentucky game at halftime did so to get home and talk about UofL on Wildcat Lair. [laughing]

These posts that accuse UK fans of something that the poster witnesses daily on their own UL board are some of the most idiotic posts. I like good honest debate and appreciate good-natured ribbing, but if I was a mod, I think I would ban a poster for accusing and/or mischaracterizing behavior that we see on our rivals's boards. Those posters are either delusional or the least creative trolls on message boards.

UK plays in the SEC and beat LSU when number one and they won the natty. Beats GA, SC, Auburn etc... ul fans will never understand it's not about one good win or close loss. Get in a real conference and do it every week then come back to us. And the difference in bball is apples and oranges. You guys will never allow truth into your brain.

Not really. Most seem to see Louisville fans as a little bit defensive but a generally amiable bunch based on the comments of other fans and polls taken on fanbase rep (e.g. Fansided, Grantland, etc.). UK fans have a very, very bad reputation. Some of the posters here show exactly why. I'll leave you be, though. The loudest of you here clearly want an echo chamber rather than a meaningful discussion. Have at it. I really do wish you good luck this season until we play, though.

Another idiotic UofL fan. Polls on fan base rep? STFU. I've known Louisville fans my entire life and some poll on Grantland or whatever isn't going to convince me that you all aren't a bunch of morons. Your post is a perfect example.

What????? Good god there are some horrible posts in this thread. That game helped them? They shine on national spotlight games? They got blown out by UGA in their bowl game last year and weren't even in the game vs Aub until late in the 4th quarter. UK has countless "moral victories" on nationally televised games. Does nothing. Can you clarify exactly what the he'll you're talking about?

In national spotlight games UofL typically shows well. They won the Sugar Bowl, beat Florida in a bowl, had FSU on the ropes last year, and played UGA close until the 4th quarter last year. Those games elevate the national profile of UofLs program. I agree that if UofL had to play in the SEC, they'd have a much harder time but they don't.

I hate UofL but ghee job they've done building their football program has been amazing. Have they done it in the sleaziest, scummiest, win at all costs way? Yes. But, they're a program with a national profile now who will soon have a stadium that's bigger than ours.

I hate them and I'm sure that Jurich has sold his soul to Satan. But I have to admit that they've built a solid program. The good thing about UofLs rise is that it's forced UK to get better.

Had FSU on the ropes? No team is on the ropes in the first quarter. Seriously?

UL had like a 21-0 lead and then FSU won the next three quarters in blowout fashion. Did we see the same game?

And, did UL appear in the UGA game in the second half? UGA dominated after the first quarter. UL's offense looked anemic and its defense let Chubb run for a career day. Maybe those defenders were thinking about the draft?

who cares? their stadium is a dump in a high crime area..their sleazy fans are right at home..National profile...revolving door for Coaches ..that covers it.

How is LLA overrated coming in, if anything they were underrated, especially by fans here. They have won a bunch of games the last few years and could beat a couple of ACC teams regularly. AU isn't the number 6 team, if not for their veteran OL overmatching your inexperienced OL early UofL would have won the game, might have anyway of Bobby had started the frosh qb, glad Gus didn't get him, well that and pissing away his last TO, or maybe it was Grantham who called it.

You talk about obsessed, yet you've been posing as a UK fan for almost 1500 posts. You can't get any more obsessed than that my friend. Come on out of the closet Puzzy. You've never fooled anyone anyway.[laughing]

You are of course welcome to believe that, up to, including, and even after Howard's dream is realized.
[laughing][laughing][laughing][laughing][laughing][laughing][laughing][laughing][laughing][laughing][laughing][laughing]
Howard ,Tommy T and you will be deader than Jacob Marley and uavel won't be within farting distance of a BCS Title..You Lil Brothers slay me..That's the most I've laughed since Pitino said " I only lasted 15 seconds and shot down her leg"..[roll][jumpingsmile][jumpingsmile][jumpingsmile]

well for starters, there is no BCS title anymore. Secondly, twice in the last 10 years we were within one game of making it. you remember, don't pretend you don't Does that qualify as a farting distance? Also, how close has UK been?
