UK vs WCU ...

Dawson walked and a couple of stolen bases put UK in a spot but Squires grounds out to short.

Coleman settling in now. Back to doing Coleman things like striking people out.

Ring him up! Coleman gets another K. This one on Robinson who had been a thorn. He then gets a bouncing comebacker and tosses it to first for the out. He hits a Catamount hitter on the hand and they call it a foul ball.

Rung him up!! Coleman living on the outside corner against right handed hitters.

One out double for WCU. Not sure why Heyer was playing so close to the line.

Mach was throwing gas at the knees but lost some control there and gave up that double on a full count.

Mach gets a swinging K at the knees for out number 2.

Mach got the breaking ball working now. He's throwing it for strikes and it's a nasty slider going from 3 to 8. He's led off the last two hitters with breaking balls.

Gave up 12 hits. Last time Western Carolina got 12 hits or more was 8 games ago against Tennessee. Tennessee is battling us for worst pitching in the SEC and we are winning decisively. That is a pretty big disappointment.

Especially when everybody thought we would have one of the best staffs in the country...losing Thompson has been a huge loss.

Well even Thompson was struggling mightily. Not sure how much of that was due to injury though. Seems like a huge problem has really been that our pitchers just groove pitches regularly. We haven't had huge issues with walks. Just give up big hits, often because of an inability to get the corner strikes.

By the way, our RPI dropped just one spot but our SOS dropped from 24 to 38 because of this game.

Much more concerned about just making the SEC tourney and winning a couple games and the rest Will take care of itself. Ga is 3-3 it's last six so hopefully we are catching them at a good time. A little something positive ...was happy to see ARod with four hits yesterday and Dawson seems to be zeroed in a little with his bat.
