UK vs Ohio St Game Thread

GUYS, How many points did Auburn REALLY beat OSU?? Im unsure cuz everytime its mentioned on here the scores increases by 5.
It was 38, but Auburn sat their top 3 players halfway through the 2nd half. Had them down by 48 at one point.

Not only that, but osu had Meechie Johnson.

OSU is not good, we're just making them look like they are.

Maybe they need an L to wake up. This is a very good team but most games will be close. People need to get used to that but everyone expects them to play a perfect 40 every time out. Not gonna happen. Go Cats. Make adjustments and win another one!
If they can come back against Gonzaga then they can come back. Having Shows as the ref today is worse.

Ky being manhandled inside our D is awful surprised Pope did not use some kind of zone our offense is not much better.
I don’t think that’s a fair assessment. You can’t really say our D is awful until you see it in action. I am hoping they display it in the 2nd half.

Maybe stick around and chat about the game? Or were you just checking in to see if people saying stuff you don't want to hear?
I’d rather watch the game than be tied to the board like a bunch of you. Griping and moaning and bashing every chance they get.
People are predictable. Like clockwork.

Trying to relax, watch some CFP on a lazy Saturday. Another awful 1st half. It will start hurting soon. Maybe not today, but soon.

Damn, didn’t watch the first half, but good to see our guys really didn’t either. Looks like we played like shit.

Let me guess, Burlier picked up two quick fouls early and Shows was putrid.
The 2 fouls didn’t come quick but still 2 fouls. I didn’t really think Shows was putrid but our play on both sides was putrid.

Nah, I wish I didn’t have too! I want us to give a shit and actually bite down and play defense with pride and some ****ing give a shit!!! Our guys haven’t played to their potential whatsoever and it pisses me tf off! It should piss you off too!!
I think everyone wants that but the reality is we will throw up a stinker or 2 this year. It’s gonna happen. That is college ball. I wish they would come out strong and fix these early issues like everyone else but let’s see what happens. Like I said maybe an L will get them to focus again. We have been a second half team all year. We all know they won’t just quit. Some games we just may not have it.

I continue to contend that this UK team will be fortunate to finish 11-7 in the SEC.

We lack junk yard dogs outside of Williams and Butler. Everyone else is a finesse player who often folds against physical play. Tennessee and Auburn must be licking their chops right now and how easily we crumble when the game gets physical.
Williams? 🤣🤣🤣

Are we ever gonna come to the realization that we’re not really a great team and most definitely not the 4th best team in the country and the only thing that has us in that position is a couple big come backs. We struggle to score against the normal power 5 conference athletes. And our defense is not at the level it has to be. Here we go. See if Pope can make another halftime adjustment that makes a difference. I know it sure isn’t gonna be a good feeling being down 10 or more in a 2nd round ncaa tourney game.
Up to this point in the season, I think Pope has done an amazing job pulling together a team that was mid major/low P4 talent. Not slamming, that is what it is and these guys have overachieved. They lack the athleticism of a true top end P4 player. They are still good players but unless they are schemed open, they will struggle. They will struggle on D against athletes.

I kind of look at this similar to when Pitino got here. He didn’t have the horses at first, but won with a lot of smoke and mirrors along with schemes and grit. Once he got equal level athletes it was insane. Hoping it’s the same for Pope.

OSU is overplaying everything. Have to figure out a way to make them pay for that. Not sure we can.

Really don't think it's fixable for SEC play. NCAAT is a different story because the field there might actually be easier than the field in the SEC.

But I see a team that's gonna take a lot of beatings in the SEC simply because the players just aren't very good. Almost every single one of them have some pretty glaring weaknesses and that's why their were all sub50 recruits and playing either on mid-major teams, or were like the 4th option on a middling P5 program..

It might be harsh to say, but these guys just aren't the type of caliber who should be playing at a Kentucky or a Duke, at least not in the roles they have now.
They have heart and a never give up attitude to come back against Duke and Gonzaga and every player in the country has weaknesses. This team has talent but they don’t always play as a team or give 100%.

We have got to start games better no doubt about it 100%. I love having a coach that will make the necessary adjustments at the half to get this W!!!!

Unfortunately, you are right.

Robinson has serious issues with the shot selection, intensity, and D.

Oweh also has serious issues with shot selection and hits nothing but the backboard on shots from 2 or 3 feet.

Butler had a marvelous game against UL, but the guy commits fouls and makes decisions that veteran point guards simply can’t do.

I could go on and on…
