UK vs. KU in Big 12/SEC Challenge this Year

Man, that out of conference schedule is becoming brutally difficult. Going to be tough to escape with just 3-4 losses.

Well, that's gonna be a pretty tough game to win. Even if you get up by 20, the second half KU always makes ridiculous runs. Not giving in by any means, but I think we are gonna be the underdog for sure.

That means UK plays Duke, Kansas, UCLA, Louisville, Ohio State and Arizona State in the non-conference next season. Huge schedule

At Allen Fieldhouse. Should be a great environment between 2 powers.

That's a real meatgrinder of an OOC schedule. That's why I'm not thrilled to see a tougher SEC coming. Those added losses may bite us in years when we are merely good, not great.

.........And Kansas fans are salivating on their Scout forum. So will their team be when game time rolls around. Our guys had better be prepared mentally - and that might be a tough task with a bunch of newcomers mixed in. KU will have the revenge factor, much like Wisky did this year.

Hmmmmm. I live close enough to make the drive up for that game. Just wonder how much of a 2nd mortgage I would have to sign up for to afford four tickets.

Bill Self better start saving up some time, just so he doesn't run out.

Dang...the non-conference schedule is brutal, but that's the way I like it. To be the man, you've got to beat the man. I'm pumped.

That would be a tough ticket unless you're a season Jayhawk ticket holder or have as much money as Fort Knox holds.

This is the 2nd year in a row that Kansas gets to play at home. They played UF at home this past season.... maybe that wasn't part of the "challenge" thing, but I thought it was.

The game will be played Jan 30th..... so I don't think our "newcomers" will be all that new any more.

And this will be just like the revenge factor for Wisconsin.... except that only about 30% of the players will be the same as played last season.

Maybe that is the challenge, you have to play @ KU with those crooked B12 refs that love to give KU the home cookin no matter where they play.

Over all I think their is going to be some good games played in the challenge. I think WV is going to blow out Florida though.

Florida certainly didn't get a friendly whistle and then they just stopped playing once the momentum turned on them.

I would think that at least preseason KU should be heavily favored, it will be more evened up if we land another big and a wing like Murray then I like our chances. Maybe they will be having some turmoil with all those front court players thinking they aren't getting enough minutes.

SEC is embarrassing itself in this series. Have not won a single road game, and our record is 7-13. Hopefully this year is different.

gossie, I meant "newcomers" in the sense that they had no involvement in the game, nor do they likely realize the bad taste that was left in the mouth of the KU players and fans in our spanking of them last year,

And even though KU will have some new guys as well, their fan-base will make them keenly aware of what is at stake weeks before. This game is HUGE to them.

Just saying I hope Cal, Alex, Tyler, and Marcus have our guys mentally tough and prepared.

Will be kinda weird to see us playing a non-conference road game in late January but that will be a great game no doubt.

Do they have to come to Rupp the next year? If not, why would UK agree to this?

Wouldn't have minded it so much with last years team. Or even if Lyles, Johnson and Booker had returned. Seems like a bad deal for us to take a really young team there.

I think we should be okay. Sure we would have been clear favorites had we had some guys come back. But it's not like Kansas will be clearly better.... or even better at all.

Last year we were 38-1 and with all the whining, you'd a thought that was reversed. What's it gonna be like if we lose 3-4 of those non conference games?
