Or, to put it another way…if you are top 5 in the SEC right now there is a darn good chance you are also in the top 8 nationwide. It's valid.
Tho I think that speaks more to the strength of those teams and less to how Gonzaga is as a team.
Auburn UT and Bama are currently 1, 2 and 7th.
Pope had more defensive looks in 9 games than Cal did in 15 years. Probably more inbound plays too.The game changer for sure. Cal's nuthuggers are hanging on by a pube now.

This team is alto like izzo teams, where they just fight there asses off every timeI don't think anyone does.
But we are here for the ride.
I just didn’t think they had the energy tonight, I was wrong on that endThat’s why I didn’t comment much early. I felt like e could still win. Don’t know why but I really trust Pope to give us a chance. He won’t beat us himself either ball coaching often I know that already.
That d*mn announcer did that. And it was done on purpose. How about a team that makes their first 15 FTs and misses their last 3? 🤣
Pope had more defensive looks in 9 games than Cal did in 15 years. Probably more inbound plays too.
I can understand why you felt that way for sure.I just didn’t think they had the energy tonight, I was wrong on that end
He had more looks THIS game! Goodness what a win. Been a long time since I've felt like this after a win. Yeah I was hyped about Duke but we fought all the time that game. This was a total 180 in every facet of the game. I'm juiced!Pope had more defensive looks in 9 games than Cal did in 15 years. Probably more inbound plays too.
Y’all you may think I’m crazy but I think this win is bigger than the Duke win for us
We were coming off a loss, without our starting pg, then without our backup pg down the stretch. Came back from 18 down to win on a DEFENSIVE play in OT
That’s freaking amazing to me
You are correct, but it makes that game even harder to accept. However, the difference between the two games is that the Clemson game was more like football than basketball.Hell of a win after losing to Clemson
That’s why I wanted this win so bad. I was sick of losing to them fools. Damn Liberals.Something really underrated to me is how smug the Gonzaga players and their fan base is.
I was very discouraged and hoping Pope would get things settled and sorted. I'm not sure when, but maybe around 12:00 I started thinking we were going to win. That’s why I didn’t comment much early. I felt like e could still win. Don’t know why but I really trust Pope to give us a chance. He won’t beat us himself either ball coaching often I know that already.
Without a doubtPope had more defensive looks in 9 games than Cal did in 15 years. Probably more inbound plays too.
Me too, I checked when it got to 6 and turned it back on. I just had a feeling if we could ever tie it then we would win. I was watching the game and Thor Ragnarok, started watching more Thor at halftime but kept checking and then tuned in from. 12 minutes on. I’m superstitious during games so I didn’t wanna turn it back on all the way because we came back while I wasn’t watching lol. I like to keep the flow going,I was very discouraged and hoping Pope would get things settled and sorted. I'm not sure when, but maybe around 12:00 I started thinking we were going to win.
We've got one hell of a coach.
I gotta accept that Robinson is always gonna look like he doesn’t give a shit, that’s just his vibeI can understand why you felt that way for sure.
yea the stats are so close between both teamsWe only had 7 turnovers, while they only had 6 … we outrebounded them 43-42

And used more time outs in one game than Cal used all year.Pope had more defensive looks in 9 games than Cal did in 15 years. Probably more inbound plays too.
We are a fanbase suffering from PTSD because of what we endured the past 10 years. We had someone trying to convince us that there is no place in college basketball for zone defenses. We had some good shooters that didn't get much playing time because they weren't good at man defense. It will take a little while for us to get past the PTSD but we as a fanbase will get there.Pope can certainly cosch, he is a damn good at making adjustments. I will never leave. I thought the ceiling of this team was looking kinda different tonight, I’ll own that I was wrong, this team just fights all damn game. Robinson was bad in the first half and hadn’t shown fight all year. I’m glad he did in the second half, he needs to do that next game as well. We are a heat of the moment fanbase, always have been always will be. This team is fun because they fight, with the fight hiensltu that’s enough to where I will not give up on them. I still don’t know their ceiling but that’s a long way away. Let’s just enjoy them man, I’m gonna follow your lead.
Man the effort on the boards makes me the happiest. We have been bad lately. Shows major challenges and heart by the guys.yea the stats are so close between both teams
I think so for real. I agree 100%.We are a fanbase suffering from PTSD because of what we endured the past 10 years. We had someone trying to convince us that there is no place in college basketball for zone defenses. Yeah he just goes with the flow of the game, he’s smooth and it never looks like he’s trying I think that is why.I gotta accept that Robinson is always gonna look like he doesn’t give a shit, that’s just his vibe
Auburn has been down double digits twice this year, they won one and lost one. Are they not a ‘very good team’?Dude it's valid points. Sorry if that bothers you.
Exactly what I told my buddy. Gonzaga is at least playing basketball and not football like Clemson. You are correct, but it makes that game even harder to accept. However, the difference between the two games is that the Clemson game was more like football than basketball.
If I wanted to get nitpicky, I still thought he forced a couple of shots, but yes, he was better tonight when we really needed him to be with Butler out. He definitely contributed tonight after basically giving us nothing against Clemson. We did but Kriisa was huge tonight. He played his heart out and made some big plays to get us back into it.
He needs some of what Carr has. Carr and butler have so much energyYeah he just goes with the flow of the game, he’s smooth and it never looks like he’s trying I think that is why.

I think so I get that vibe. Similar kind of makeup. Probably a little less talent overall but close.Comeback Cats part Deux?
Can bullshit put you to sleep, if so they won't get up till noonSome uk fans that post here are sleeping right now high on melatonin
Good lord. People like you are just the worst. Do you remember 1998 or nahAuburn has also played a much tougher schedule than we have.
It's not just being down by that much. It's being down by that much in every single tough opponent we've played so far.
The team started the second half like they were ready to fight. I posted throughout the second half that we would be comfortably in control of the game if not for the halfhearted effort in the first half. I was concerned if they would run out of gas in the second half trying to overcome the 16-point deficit.I was very discouraged and hoping Pope would get things settled and sorted. I'm not sure when, but maybe around 12:00 I started thinking we were going to win.
We've got one hell of a coach.
