A week ago people were saying these guys were 8th and 9th men. The fact they have been better than expected is huge for UK. I also think people are overrating them a bit with expectations.
Unfortunately, We are already seeing some of Cal’s bias towards size coming in. He’s playing Burks extended minutes w Thieros fouls trouble but Bruks isn’t strong enough right now to be a power player…still mainly finesse at this point despite the extra length….if you’re going w finesse then give me another guard to beat the plethora of zones Canada is throwing our way.
Also appears that Wagner had been told to be aggressive and drive as he’s forced things more today than the other 3 games. That’s likely Cal trying to “get him on track” but it’s killed the great ball movement we had that was racking up assist and has turned into Wagner and Edwards taking turns penetrating (what we are use to seeing from Cal)… no surprises Reeves hasn’t gotten the same quality of looks bc of it
Our best lineup in that case would be to play 4 out w 3 guards and Edwards and Mitchell at the 5 and extend pressure to force Canada to play faster.

Edwards is going to be pretty special. Has a chance to be our best pure small forward since MKG.
What a huge late pick up Mitchell was. Got really lucky on this one.
