Can't wait. Huge game. If UK wins tonight, you have to love our chances for winning the series with Niman and Moore waiting in the wings.

Auburn won game 1 against UT last week, so hopefully we can contain their bats more than UT's pitiful Friday night starter has been doing.

Interesting team dynamic this season is that they seem to have a will to hang on in SEC games. We couldn't complete the comeback from a bad start against Samford but we can hold off Auburn. It is like they know which games really count. They are carving out an SEC record that will be impossible to downplay when the NCAA tournament comes around.

Mid week games are just different

They are. SEC teams look at them as a chance to give their pitchers who don't play on the weekends a chance to get some game experience, so that they can move up. The "mid major" opponents look to make a name for themselves by beating an SEC school. To use a Calipari quote, it is their "Super Bowl".

Pretty brutal game for UK, but we still won! Tons of walks, base running gaffes, left Pooser and Travis in for a batter or two too many - but we got away with it. Hopefully tonight is a bit cleaner, but just happy to get the series opener.
