I'm not saying pope needs to go but it's not looking promising. The correct decision would be to take a champion pedigree coach vs one that has never won a tournament game. The stupid people are the ones that blindly bought into the pope hype. I'm more wait and see.
How is it not looking promising? We beat 5 top 10 teams this year, more than cal managed in his last 3 combined. We have a good recruiting class and aren’t done with it. Pope had a month to put this together. We lost our most valuable player and his back up. Also how can you say you’re ’wait and see’ when you’re literally giving up on pope a week after beating Tennessee? That is the opposite of wait and see lmao

For playing under Pitino for three years, Pope has zero characteristics of his coach. We had guys like Farmer, Pelphrey and Feldhuas who would be All Pro defensive players compared to what Mark Pope puts out there and demands on defense.
