They raised a BUNCH of NIL Friday with the John Legend concert/gala. Millionaires as far as the eye could see. I for real can't figure out how to post my pics without uploading to a hosting site first. Whew they went alllllll out for dat money. I got a great pic of Pope and Stoops together along with some other shots with my uncle with Couch, Barion, Stoops, etc. I didn't get to go but uncle, mom and aunt got free Tix through athletic department. I just couldn't get out of work 😭
Even worse when you consider someone had a 100k offer for reeves and cal somehow “missed” it like tubby did a fax for randolph morris. That is like if someone forgot to pay you 40% of your salary. Crazy cal was handling nil like he was a bag man.

Difficult to do when you see all the posts and talk on here about NIL these days. Plus it appears on all sorts of sports sites everywhere. But, I agree with you trying to put it out of mind.
Assuming those NIL numbers are right from last year, I think they refer more to what they were paid by the collectives. I'm guessing Reed and Rob made quite a bit more than that each by the end of the season via real NIL endorsements for commercials and such.

This has basically just turned into pro sports where everyone has different "payroll" figures.
It really is interesting how drastically different this is than a few years ago. A good college player who never plays in the NBA could reasonably make enough money in four years of CBB to effectively retire after college. If they can put away $1.5m by the time they graduate, historically that should allow them to draw ~75k/year without too much trouble. Obviously you're losing money over time due to inflation if you're not increasing your initial investment, but any player in that situation should have no trouble making money via clinics and coaching after college. And if you don't touch that $1.5mil and live off your year-to-year earnings, a basic rule of thumb is the stock market should let you double your money in about 10 years. Retire in your early 30s and live comfortably the rest of your life. Not bad...
