UK Ranked 14th in AP Poll

We are 9th in kenpom and they are 15th. But keep trying.

Btw, BPI is flawed because it has only given us partial credit for our last three wins, because Poythress didn't play.

This is especially damaging because they happen to be our 3 best results of the season. That's why we've been flying up the other computer models while barely budging in BPI.

It's so great that results aren't won by these stupid metric systems. I love that it's won on the court.

Otherwise Kansas might actually be a threat to Us.

Whew.....

They act like there's a chance he can return while at the same time talking about the pain he's still having in the foot. It makes no sense. They should just give a medical redshirt. There are only four regular season games left. It's perplexing to me.

We really don't know if Poythress is coming back either. We are playing well without him, but it would be crazy to think he wouldn't help some time in March.

That really sucks because Alex has already had to miss an entire season with a bad injury, he deserves to be able to play out his senior year and compete in the NCAA'S.

That s what Cal is all about, peak at the right time. He is getting this team's head outta their rear ends

Eff it, we can win out. Aside from that inexplicable collapse at Tennessee, we've had one hell of a stretch of games. I don't think we have any more @UT performances left in us.
I actually think that Tennessee game collapse is more easily explained than inexplicable. It came three days after the "balls to the walls" performance at Kansas. Our guys gave 110% effort in the Kansas game....traveled back home...traveled to Tenn. and got a big lead then just mentally/physically ran out of gas. That happens with young players.

I'm not concerned one iota by the bad losses... Bring that sort of game to an SEC tournament game and then I'll just hope for the best expect the worst. Saving that, I expect to the best version of the cats in the NCAA tournament and hope th he match ups are favorable and the shots fall.

Any of you guys seen Xavier play much this season? if so what's your thoughts on them.

Safe to say I have watched a fair amount of Xavier games given they are part of my logo. Remember folks Kentucky is my #1 and all time favorite basketball team but I also do root for some of the Ohio teams too because I live in Ohio.

Xavier is a very balanced team. They have no superstar. Jalen Reynolds is half of their low post presence he also plays with fire and emotion (remember the emotion Cousins played with here). James Farr is an under rated low post player making up the other half. At guard they have a freshman in Edmond Summer who is a tremendous slasher to the rim. Trevon Bluiett leads the team with 15 PPG and shoots 38% from 3. Myles Davis shoots 38% from 3 and 86% from the line. They have 7 guys who play 20+ minutes a game. They also have good depth with a a few guys playing 10 mins a game. I hope Kentucky and Xavier are in different regions. Xavier has never made a Final 4 this is the best team they have had since the days of David West.

Iowa State has 7 RPI Top-50 wins, and only one loss outside of the top 50.

We have 5 RPI Top-50 wins, and 5 losses outside the RPI Top-50.

And you think we should be above them??

Explain please.
Because this is not the same team that lost to Auburn and UT...Kentucky is playing as well as anyone in the country right now and will get better each game...

Virginia has losses to George Washington, Florida State, Va Tech, and Georgia Tech. Yet they are in conversation for a 1 seed. As I mentioned earlier, KY conceivably could still name their seed if they win out. Likely, no. But not impossible.

Stopped reading at "she"

I guessed us at 15th. I'll take it!

We are better than 14 but you don't see too many teams jump more than 8 spots in one week.
I'll take it.
Except, of course, Duke. They blew back in at #19 and #20 the polls after probably being ranked 8-10 spots lower and outside of the Top 25. I knew they'd put their dumb asses back in there. Fine with me - their toughest stretch of games is coming up. I'd love to see them end the season unranked and struggling to get an NCAA seeding worth a damn.

We control our own destiny. We put ourselves in a really bad spot with the Auburn and UT losses. Now we've battled through it and put ourselves in position to be a 2-3 seed if we finish strong. Hats off to Cal and the team to battle all the way back. Hopefully we keep the momentum rolling. GBB.

We are hoping for the best of course, but the reports have been vague.

I posted this in raftsrds, but How in the hell did Indiana jump up to number 21 in the country after being blown out and embarrassed on national television yesterday?

At what point do we stop believing the Big Ten hype? Both Kentucky and Florida Have more national championships by themselves than the entire Big Ten conference does combined over the past 25 years.

There were fox radio hosts on radio this weekend saying they had no idea when college basketball season started. Followed it up with they did not care. Then said college basketball should have big games early like KY and Duke to get interest. Said it did not matter because of the NFL.

I am sure both of them could tell you when Peyton Manning had his last 5 bowel movements.

No one from Miami should get to vote in a college basketball poll. Unless they are from Miami, Ohio.

So maybe on selection Sunday when the committee is placing Kentucky they really shouldn't give much weight to the wins over UL and Duke right?
No more weight than beating S.Car. at home by 27.

They had to make sure Duke is ranked for Wednesday's tilt with UNC.
They put them high enough where a loss won't knock them out of the rankings again.

Duke did nothing to deserve that jump.

Would like to extend the opportunity to take all of this back if you please

Why would I?

Because they lost?

NO WHERE did I say ISU was better than us (because they're not).

I think we are leaps and bounds better than Iowa State.

BUT, at that point last week, like it or not, THEY had a better resume on paper than we did in regards to the polls.

The fact that they have lost since then has absolutely zero to do with what I was saying, and anyone with half-a-brain could realize that
