Coulda just been a football fan that’s an admin of sorts at the hospital who thought he could help these guys skate by.
Here's the irony: TN sports media flunky(understand that TN sports media is nothing more that the propaganda arm of the TN athletic dept)ran a snarky, demeaning, insulting article on Lanning at Oregon "buying" a Top Five recruiting class. Now with TN's $10-$12M purchase of the '26 QB TN's doing the same thing, something tells me TN media will let that one slide.

They are paying QB NIL for an OT who is scheduled to commit sometime later this month. They want to be revenant so bad they are overpaying bigtime for kids. Ole Chumlee will find the hot seat or hire a new defensive staff which consist of 3 former Richt assistants. But with what they are paying they aren't just expecting playoffs, they are expecting to win. But the only time the vols have ever been any good they were buying players, now that they can openly buy them of course they will be good again. Why would anyone want to spend time in Knoxville if they had other options.

They always like to accuse other programs of buying players. Just a few years ago everyone was buying players, except the vols. Yet who got sanctions for trying to buy players. Trashiest program and fanbase in the country. They will prove it again as soon as something doesn't go their way.

I’ve posted this in the past but seems a good time to reiterate that stoops’ heyday was facing Muschamp at SC and Odom at Mizzou where he substantially controlled those series. With new hires he’s .500 v Mizzou and losing to Beamer. How long can we hold on the UF series and can we continue to beat ul at the same clip with a competent coach there. The challenge is if all those series become more 50/50 types then he has to go pick up w’s against teams he just doesn’t win against.
I'll wait and see what he does this season vs SC and UF. I think it is reasonable to expect wins in both games. If we can pull that off then all well and good, if not then I'll rethink my position on Stoops. We have solid veteran team on both sides of the ball. What Stoops does with this group will tell us where we are with him leading the program.
And at Michigan where the coach cheated during the games and nothing to the program
He just got a 4 year ban for improper benefits and far as i could tell nothing for the school. No vacating wins.
This improper benefits case was separate from the other cheating but as an improper benefits case they should be vacating wins too. Or did they push back harder than mitch (ie none)?

It was an impermissible contacts case and not an improper benefits case. Those are institutional violations that generally don’t imperil an athlete’s eligibility, so vacating wins wasn’t on the table for Michigan.
As far as the school is concerned, they resolved their portion of the case in April and received 3 years probation, a fine, and restrictions on recruiting activities. Harbaugh’s ruling came later because of his refusal to cooperate with the NCAA.
Michigan cooperated with the NCAA in a fashion similar to UK.
It didn't include the free meals harbaugh bought the players? From a story i saw, that was a specific issue and finding.
So i dont doubt you on how they ultimately ruled, I don't see how wasnt an impermissible benefits case that resulted in forfeiting wins..
Because you only vacate wins if an athlete is ineligible AND competes in a game.
If you catch a benefits violation before an athlete competes in a game, and the amount is small, it’s a non-issue in terms of vacating wins. You simply run the athlete through the reinstatement process and the athlete pays restitution to a charity. It’s pretty straightforward.
The recruiting visits occurred in Feb and March of 2021. Michigan notified the NCAA they had uncovered potential violations in April of 2021. They caught it early, reported it immediately and had plenty of time to take care of reinstatement.
If an athlete had received extra benefits and Michigan didn’t catch it until after they had competed, then it would be a different story about vacating wins.
As it stands, this was an impermissible contacts case. Michigan was never accused of using ineligible players in a game.
So the benefits were self reported and corrected before those players played in a game?
The benefits, specifically, were uncovered during the course of the investigation that started when Michigan self-reported violations of non-coaching staff participating in coaching activities.
That investigation was a collaborative effort between Michigan and the NCAA, and the meals were substantiated after the university reviewed their recruiting records, expense reports and telephone records and handed that evidence over to the NCAA enforcement staff. The school also jointly interviewed the football staff, the athletes and the athletes’ fathers.
So, again, the meals were caught quickly and fully reported to the NCAA BEFORE anyone had competed in a game. There were only two athletes who received free meals (referred to as “student-athlete 2” and “student-athlete 3” in the report).
Of those two, only student-athlete 3 actually signed with Michigan. He signed his National Letter of Intent on December 15, 2021, well after the investigation had already started. The meals specifically came to light in Feb 2022, so both the NCAA and Michigan were aware of any eligibility issues roughly 6 months BEFORE the start of what would be student-athlete 3’s freshman season.
Meaning that this was caught well before student-athlete 3 could have possibly participated in a game, and both the NCAA and Michigan would’ve been aware of any eligibility issues. Since we’re only talking about a free meal, it’s a pretty simple process to restore an athlete’s eligibility.
There’s no reason to expect Michigan would have to vacate any games for these specific violations.
All you can do is shake your head, now if we were to upset Texas or Georgia, we have to worry about it being taken away a few years later. All this does it make you want to not care about any of it, money is the root of ALL evil!!
