Here's a look back at how Kentucky has fared against future No. 1 picks in the NBA Draft, dating back to the 1990 season. All in all the Cats are 5-6 in such games, although UK is 3-0 in their last three NCAA Tournament games against top picks.

Didn't we take out Magic Johnson in his junior year at MSU on our way to the title? That was a big one also:

1978 NCAA Tournament.[5] The Spartans reached the Elite Eight, but lost narrowly to eventual national champion Kentucky. It was his junior year, but he still was the #1 pick in '80.

That should make us 6-6 and a big one to note IMO. Pervis Ellison has to be on that list also.
 
^^Think '78 would have been Magic's freshman year; he left after winning the title his sophomore season....
 
Interesting write up. Thanks for that. We definitely win the tiebreaker with Brand. His "revenge" in 98-99 was nowhere near as sweet as our win the previous year. :sunglasses:
