Assuming that the USC game gets made up and there are no cancellations, UK has 19 more regular season games scheduled. And then the SECT. We’ll stop there. What do you think UK’s record will be at that point? Does it get them a NCAAT invite?

My guess:
1-6 now
13-6 Reg season
2-1 SECT
16-13 No NCAAT

I hope you are right but I see absolutely no way in hell this team wins 16 games.

I wouldn't know what to guess but I would be ecstatic if we could find a way to win one more than we lose. But I don't see it.

its just to hard to say , they just dont seem to be improving enough to even finish second in the SEC, if we can win 18 game I will be very surprised .

Holding onto hope. But it's getting dim.
1-6 now
14-5 Reg season
3-0 SECT
18-11. I think we make the Tourney as SEC champs no need for a decision from the committee. Man if one of Sarr's jumpers to win goes down and that putback dunk against KU we are 3-4 and still very much alive, but dam 6 losses out of 7 is a huge dam hole. Even with trying to be positive and hoping this team gets it soon, it takes us being perfect for the next 5 games and going 5-0 just to get to .500. Dam that's ugly.

I projected the correct record last year when so many were down after losses to EU, OHS, and Utah, but this might be a stretch. I will hold onto hope as long as I can, but it's getting tough, to be honest.

If the rumors are true that UK only beat Transylvania by 8 in the scrimmage...that says a lot. I’m hoping that’s strictly a fabrication by someone being sarcastic.

I honestly think we ARE going to turn it around and improve. It's not going to change my mind about anything I've said, but it's not like the guys saying "keep the faith" are crazy. I expect us to be solid by seasons end. I still dont believe we make the tournament

But I still believe its gonna be too little too late for this season. UK should never be in the position we are in. And we all understand why we are where we are and how not having a few Poop State cupcakes to pad the schedule hurts us. Again, UK should never be in the position where we need those kind of games to get going. You hit the ground running and begin to polish the marble as the season progresses, so by season's end, we have something resembling the Statue of David. Cal isn't getting $10 mil so we can watch them dig at the rock quarry for 2 months every year.

We will be 20-9 and a 4 seed in the NCAAT

17 - 11 and we get in the dance by winning the Sect. 5 seed in the most difficult region. Final 4 then anything can happen. 2020 has been a disaster, so maybe 2021 will be our year. All of this should be taken with a grain of salt.

People really thinking only 5 losses in the SEC? A third of the SEC teams are Top 25 or borderline Top 25 teams. Two Tennessee games, two against Florida, Arkansas, Missouri, LSU. These could all be losses.

My guess:

1-6 now
11-8 Reg season
1-1 SECT
13-15 Invite to NIT - We lose to Robert Morris or Gardiner Webb......that would put the cherry on top of this whole covid year

9-9 in SEC about as miraculous as you could hope for. So max 12 wins for regular season plus SEC tourney.

Based on the product we’ve seen on the floor, I’m not sure how we get to 12 wins this year. I’ll predict 11-17 and that includes 1-1 in the SECT. My biggest concern is that if the final record is this bad, will Cal actually display contrition and acknowledge that this performance is unacceptable OR dig his heels in and blame everything and everyone but himself. If he doesn’t show contrition, I see Cal completely losing the fan base and speeding up his exit from Lexington.

I pretty much believe that ANY chance of ANY meaningful turnaround starts Saturday. Must win...but I have felt like every game was a must win since Kansas....we suck and that’s the bottom line, the hole has been dug too deep and I can’t even get somewhat excited about the possibility of building for next year because we know we will lose 6-8 guys no matter what. Cal said he wanted to go find guys that really want to be at UK. Well if that desire only last 5 months for one season, they are still useless...I drank the koolaid when guys were coming and setting freshman records, but coming and averaging 4 points per game and failing to learn fundamentals, lacking the ability to shoot free throws, etc....just an embarrassment to the program wether drafted or not.

Unless Mintz or Askew become the PG this team needs and Sarr plays like he in the ACC last year, I don't see much hope. I am kind of excited to see what the Toppin kid can do. Saw signs of him becoming a real threat.
Never predict records. Just too many variables in a year with a good team. No way to even begin to predict what this team does. I keep hoping for the switch to flip.

I agree with this prediction

Should be many close games - at this point only Tennessee is close to 10 points ahead of UK in the Sagarin predictor ratings. Here's what Sagarin predictor shows for the rest of UK's season:

W SC (postponed) (UK by 3)
W At MSU (UK by 1)
W Vandy (UK by 6)
L At FL (FL by 7)
W Bama (UK by 1)
L AT Auburn (Auburn by 1)
L At GA (Georgia by 1)
L LSU (LSU by 2)
L At Bama (Bama by 4)
L Texas (Texas by 2)
L At Mizzou (Mizzou by 3)
L Tennessee (Tennessee by 7)
L Arkansas (Arkansas by 3)
W Auburn (UK by 3)
W At Vandy (UK by 6)
L At Tennessee (Tennessee by 11)
W TAMU (UK by 7)
L FL (FL by 3)
L At Miss (Miss by 2)

1-7 non-conference
6-12 in SEC
7-19 overall

but ... Sagarin predictor has an amazing 11 of UK's 19 remaining games being decided by 5 points or less, so if UK can start getting those shots in crunch time to start falling, you can see a lot of opportunities to turn a 6-12 conference record into something like 11-5 or 12-6....

Happy New Year, Cat fans!
