Uh oh. Huggy Bear busted for another DUI

Yeah he is done at the D1 level. He was a good Coach good recruiter and adapted year in and out to his roster makeup. Sad he is a functioning alcoholic who’s liver has to be shot.
That's wat they said about Pitino in 2017 and now look at him. That's all these guys have to do is go off somewhere and repair the image and reputation for a year or 2 while they win some ball games and then somebody is always willing to give a guy a 2nd chance, or 7th million chance.

With all due respect, trying to make some here feel guilty isn't the answer. This has become a pattern with Huggins, to the point that after the recent radio interview, some laughed and chalked it up to him just being drunk on air (an assumption by a few). No one is saying he shouldn't get help, but he's an old man who has gotten chance after chance, and quite frankly, the university probably should've let him go after his recent public slurs. Some get one or two chances and that's it. Others get countless opportunities. He needs to go away, fix whatever he's dealing with, and in general, make better choices.
I don’t care if people feel guilty or not, that wasn’t the intent, nor am I advocating for him to keeping his job. I understand from the University point of view if he looses his job. But calling a man a bastard for a disease to me is crossing a line that some don’t understand unless they have seen it with their own eyes.

Sad. Hug was very polite the only time I sort of met him. Hope he gets this straightened out.
I’ve actually been in a bar with him. We stayed at the same hotel as the Cincinnati team during the 2004 NCAA Regional games in Columbus. We went into the hotel bar after some running around one night and he was there at a table with some other people. He was fine that night though as far as I could tell. I was not fine after we lost 76-75 to UAB.

He may have just done WVU a favor.

He did that a few months ago. The fools kept him anyway when it was obvious he was out of control. Was bad enough to say what he said but then he refused to apologize until the school put out that canned apology that he probably never agreed with at all.

Alcoholism ruined many lives. Chalk another one up in that category unfortunately.

He's been a mess for years. He's never really sought out help and was doing this shit since the mid 90s. He allowed more bullshit from his players at UC than just about any school I've ever paid attention to. It took years for them to try and mend that reputation in the city of Cincinnati. People love to romanticize him though.

I've seen it and he never sought help. He's had more resources available than anyone you or I know yet he pulls this shit.

West Virginia’s players have a 30-day window to transfer after Bob Huggins resigned as head coach, CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein reported, citing an NCAA official. That could reopen some big-time transfer recruitments, as the Mountaineers projected as a borderline top 25 team, one with 247Sports’ second-ranked transfer class.

Sounds very much like the scene in Cincinnati where he was filmed being arrested, which led to him being fired from UC. It's one thing to be a drunk who gets shitfaced at home. This guy had been driving around loaded for a long time.

Yeah he never learned or sought help and put many lives at risk pulling this bullshit. Arrogant prick.

I still have nightmares about Fitch missing that wide open 3. Ultimately, I think UConn was going to win it anyway….but we blew a good chance that year.
