UConn men and women are 18-1 in title games since mid 90's ........... the only other time in basketball something like that happened was proven huge massive azz cheating with UCLA. You dont get %'s that high in a sport where enough programs are that competitive (yeah womens not as much but when its both mens and womens together it shows the they are doing the same tricks)
That’s crazy. Geno is 12-1 in championship games (lost in 2022).
I knew the men have had an incredible run. Any time they make the championship, they win it. They have only lost one semi final ever and that was 2009,
What’s crazy is that we have all witnessed this run for the men’s and women’s in our lifetime. I remember when Geno and Lobo won their first in 95. Same for the men in 99. Meanwhile, I’ve only seen three UK titles during that time.
Those programs have had more success than anyone in my lifetime.

What was the rationale in making them a two seed with three losses and a 30 point win over SC in February?
This is why womens basketball ratings aren’t good. The two best teams are playing and one is obliterating the other. There is no parity

When UCONN was dominating, I really wanted someone to come along and take them down. However, kind of like TAM, the product that replaced the UCONN teams of the 2010’s is bully ball. Throw it up and then go get it.

Just hate how the women set up teams to play great teams on their home court. UL would rag on us for getting beat like they were better. During this time we may of had a top 2 or 3 team. I thought it was hard schedule.
There’s definitely not parity. There was a good three year stretch from 2018-2021 I believe where it was all one possession.
SC would’ve won the title in 2023 if Clark and them didn’t pull off the massive upset in the semis. So there’s been good semi games over the years but the finals appear to be double-digit wins most of the time. But three of the last four men’s title games were blowouts too.
That’s how SC won its three titles. A’ja, Boston and Cardoso. Dominant bigs and all you gotta do is be able to hit a wide open threes when they double down on the bigs.
But there’s such a massive gap in talent in the sport that when the top few teams get all of the talent and horde it for four years, it’s easier to win titles.
I've read where ratings were down from last year, which is no surprise. Not sure how much of a drop it has been, though.

That is just unreal. It defies all logic that one school could have that level of good fortune in national championship games. And the crazy thing is the school had no real basketball history before the mid 90s.

Yeah it’s going to be tough to keep up because most of the top players are playing with other 5 star players . What made Caitlin special to watch was the fact that she was the only 5 star( I think) on her team the last two years at least . She couldn’t afford an average game . Paige could have a so so game and she has Fudd and Strong to back her up .
Also Angel Reese being a villain helped . I’m not sure there is a villain player in women’s basketball . Hannah Hilalgo is about the only hated player and not a lot of people know what she did . Reese became a villain with everyone watching.
Yep. Meanwhile, Michigan is 1-6 in title games. Tied for all time losses in the title game with UNC, Duke and Kansas.
That call was just as bad as the one they called on Flagg last night. Neither one of those were close to fouls.
Not really aiming this at you, but I really dont want to hear shit about one bad call going against Duke.
You know what, it could be a lot worse. They've gotten a ton more help than they've had things go against them. If duke wants a fair whistle, they better be careful what they ask for.. a heck of a lot of their success comes on officials helping them.
She knows I got a new place here in Gilbertsville. And I know (who does, really ?) that she doesn't want to stay back home with mom at the ole' family clubhouse. She IS looking for a place to move to.
