uavel fans want UK rematch in NCAA tourney

Blind squirrel theory eventually will happen and they can say....see told ya we would beat you the 20th try

if we get another shot at them in the tourney. Hope when we get up double digits again we dont let up and give them the most embarrassing loss of the entire series.

Same story different year. All their fans keep saying that Mathiang would have made a huge difference, but they had 2 weeks to game plan without him in it. We didn't get the chance to game plan without briscoe but still won.

That would be alright with me. I don't mind handing them another loss, and breaking their little red hearts again.

Well, this is an all too common response from some fans on the losing team. Unless there are mitigating reasons (such as key players not playing, etc.) I personally would not want to risk a loss in the tournament by playing a team that has already beaten me. I can remember too often this very same request -- looking to throw good money after bad so to speak, but the outcome was the same - the losing team the first time lost the second time.

They are at least ten points better than us, and will improve greatly between now and then. Of course, UK will not. A few fans are realistic, but there are still some gems there.

Some quotes:

I still dont think they are all that good. They shot abnormally good and got the vast majority of the calls. With defensive experience witg development of the young players and team chemistry I want them again. Mango back..... PLEASE let us play them again early in the tourney.

I agree. We're the better team. Our recent record against them is embarrassing... a total joke. I want to play them as many times as possible until we freaking beat them!

They aren't that good. Played out of their minds....I want em in march

Play them outside of Rupp and we are 6+ points better than that team right now. By the end of the year and after getting Mangok back, I might say we're 10+ points better.

But for some odd reason they ALWAYS play LIGHTS FREAKIN OUT when they match up with us, happens every time.

I want to play them again as well!!! CRUSH THEM!!!

Why wouldn't they? Their rematch against UK in the NCAA Tournament worked out so well for them the last two times...

Louisville Fans: Same [poop], different year.

They say that every year. They want to play us on a neutral court. That hasn't worked out for them. The year that KY went to the NIT, Louisville won. KY has sent them home the last few years when they played, the year they won it KY didn't play in the NCAA, it may have been a different outcome if they had to play KY. I don't think they really want to meet us again. Just fools talking.[/QUOT
I remember reading and hearing the same thing in 2012 and 2014. How did that work out for them?

You know, maybe it's just me, but I feel like if UK had went 1-8 against a particular team in the last six years alone, I'd want to avoid the team in question like the plague for the time being.

I think they get their wish this year. I see UL as a 4ish seed and us as a 2ish. The committee will make sure were in the same bracket after a nail biter like this one turned out to be. We can count on that. Theyll get their chance IMO should both teams beat who their supposed to beat.

9-1 then. all the regional teams except wvu who wasn't really a rival the first meeting cal has beaten. ul, ul, iu, notre dame, unc, cincy, wku, osu. plus we own them. 9-1 is coming this year or next.

Just the other day they wanted to quit the series that they were begging for since forever. Now, they want to play us again. I will say it again UL fans: BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU ASK FOR! Because, that has really worked out for you so far.[pfftt] I wonder what they are thinking, Law of Averages?

We played an overall slightly above average game against them. We shot well but got outrebounded and turned the ball over too much. I honestly think that by March, a game like this would have been well BELOW average for us.

Can you imagine the lingering effects on Pitino If this is truly his last year and we were to put them out of the tournament after beating him in the regular season.
He may end up in a mental ward and be worse off than Ray Finkle.

I think ,UK will be much better by March, even with a below average game this time, they had the dirty redbirds down double digits most of the game.By March some of our bigs will have developed better, whether it's Skal,Humphries,or Wynyard. Uk has a much higher ceiling than UL.Redbirds are playing all out with 5 year seniors and Mathiang won't add anymore to their bigs than they what they did.

No real UK Fan should be concerned about playing Little Brothel in the tourney (if they make it even)UK will be improved and rolling and they will be beaten down and falling.

They don't truly want that, and I think many of them know that. Come selection Sunday, they'll be watching where their team lands, and if Kentucky lands in another bracket, they'll breath a sigh of relief.
Their logic behind them "wanting Kentucky in March" is that they believe their team has a higher ceiling. Reality is, that's not true, and they've seen that Kentucky's youth becomes a much better team twice now, in March, when they got sent packing.

I hope they get their wish & we throttle them by 20.

But I don't blame them for believing they can turn the tables...we hit 11 3s...3-4 of them were from 4-5 feet behind the line...and we won by 2.

But as someone said earlier, "bring it on!"

I had an older brother growing up. I remember always getting beat by him over and over.

I also remember that no matter how many times he beat me or how bad he beat, I'd ALWAYS ask for rematch after rematch after rematch.

In other words, I know little brother tactics when I see them.

Your UL Fandom has no bounds does it? We also had a starter out and have a team full of Freshmen that will not be Freshmen in March, led by double digits most of the game and won by 2 points because of foul problems.
Your dirty redbirds on the other hand have 5 year seniors/24 year old ringers that are not going to improve, but you can bet UK'front and backcourt will

Yea I'm the one with "bias" issues...

Let me get this straight...in your "objective opinion," we will obviously improve prior to the tournament, while Louseyville will obviously not improve at all in the same time?

Lol...you should bottle that analysis...its gold Jerry!! Gold!!

Tell us how 2 5th year seniors are going to improve beyond what they are? I think looking at John Calipari's teams here at UK will show that improvement is the rule far more than the exception, but I'm willing to debate each player on the roster of each team and their ceilings

You on the other hand are a cheapshot artist with subtle troll digs in every post, pretty sick to pose as a UK Fan just to slime up a forum
Where did I say you were biased? I flatly stated you were a UL Fan,it's obvious

No I stated a simple opinion. Which was that given the fact that we hit 11 3s, 4 of them well beyond NBA range & won by just 2 could easily give them hope in a rematch. Nothing more, nothing less. Seems like a perfectly reasonable thought to me, even if someone were to disagree. You, however, took it & ran with the "go cheer for Louisville" junk.

And, yes, I believe a 5th year senior can improve...if that is a serious question. Didn't know there was an age limit.

They were getting blown out until Cal called the dogs off, looking at the final score does not tell the story, UK could have easily kept their foot on the pedal and blown them out.

You're one of the most respected posters on here, but if you're saying that once we were up by 16 Cal "called off the dogs," then I can't agree. Looked to me like we continued playing & Louseyville just made a run, like RPs teams do, and like many teams do.

I have a hard time believing Cal didn't want to blow them out in that situation.

You know as everyone that we all bitch about how he goes into stall ball late in games. This game was never in doubt in the second half, and that was without a starter. There is no question Cal called them off. He quit going to inside and did nothing but run the shot clock out taking jump shots.

I agree it wasn't really in doubt until the final minute but I don't think for a second he called off the dogs. We had trouble going inside most of the game except for the times when we had some success getting the ball to Poy at the free throw line against the zone. We got the lead making 11 3s & that same reliance on the outside game caused the game to tighten up, in my opinion.
Louseyville is a good team & they made a run to get back in it, just as we made our runs to get the big lead. It's the nature of today's college game.

just my opinion. :)

Kentucky kept hitting 3's at a high % all the way until the end of the game. It's not excuse for winning either, they did what they had to and won. Keep in mind that they should have gotten two more free throws after Murray was fouled but the refs decided to call the game.

Yea...as an ex-compulsive gambler, I couldn't help feel for all of those who had the Cats -2.5. Those free throws, if just one were made, would've made them winners.
Reminded me why I finally quit gambling, albeit too late, after many years of losing bets!!
