U of L A D search

NCAA - Due to years of failing to monitor your program and repeated violations, some while you were already on probation.

University Six - We understand that, but we have fired everyone connected to that and are in the process of hiring an athletic director who will clean this mess up and operate within the rules.

NCAA - We'll take that into consideration when we hand down your punishment. Who are you hiring?

University Six - Tom Jurich. Perhaps you've heard of him.

NCAA -

He really was one of the best ADs in the country at one point. But he was clearly declining before UofL let him go. Refusing to fire his buddy Rick. Missed on two of his final three football hires. Not only bringing Bobby back but giving him that contract was a huge miscalculation.

First, Tom Jurich was successful but only in a very John Gotti way. He is just willing to stoop to levels others won't. DaVonte Fields is a prime example.

Second, I reminded a couple of people at work the other day that we're saying get Jurich and Pitino back. After SMU, I didn't think the NCAA would ever use the death penalty again. U of L is almost daring them to do it.

"Jurich confirmed he is interested"

No kidding? The unemployed scandal plagued slimeball who no other school has even considered hiring since his humiliating termination 5 yrs ago is interested in his old job? What ground breaking journalism.

I would like to take this time to confirm I am interested in Gal Gadot. Just, you know, she can give me a call, today, tomorrow, next week. In case anyone was wondering.

I don't care who they hire as their next AD as long as Satterfield stays put for a long time. Dude is doing great things for Kentucky and just needs more time to get the train rolling.

I would sell my soul for one night with Wonder Woman. In love with Gal.

That's the whole point, he wasn't a good AD. He brought in shady coaches and yeah they won a bit, but it's fools good because those guys had no integrity. Jurich's success is like a crack high.

He really (appeared to be) one of the best ADs in the country at one point (according to the media). But he was clearly reclining before UofL let him go. Refusing to fire his buddy Rick (several times). (BARELY) Missed (probation) on two of his final three football hires. Not only bringing (Bespa) Bobby back but giving him that contract (without a coed in waiting) was a huge miscalculation.

In appearance only and only for a time. He wasn't successful on paper, once people finally got to see what he was doing. He wasn't hiring successfully, because the people he hired were of poor character and ethics, but it took some time for people to find out. He wasn't successful at anything except collecting a paycheck and deceiving a group of people that WANTED to be deceived.

The areas of the athletic program he didn't to my knowledge touch (and I don't follow nor care enough to know much about UL) continued to do well, though.

I don't see how anyone could say this, he stole the university blind and made them a laughing stock of the college world. Proven cheater

He was the big fish in the small pond and he was willing to take every player that fell through the cracks for legal reasons. Once ul went to the acc they couldn't act like the did in cusa or big east.

While you are correct, he still built-up that athletic dept as a whole. Fundraising, facilities, on-field success in a lot of sports, etc.

Ya lot of people in denial but he was at one time an unbelievable AD. He ruined a ton of it at the end, but end of the day he took over a C-USA school got them in the ACC.

Cincinnati went from CUSA to Big 12, and has been a much more consistent winning football program

Jurich took over, looted a humongous rainy day fund built by his predecessors, slapped UL students with "activity fees", and borrowed borrowed borrowed.

Nobody tries to say the UC AD is the greatest since sliced bread. Hell no one even knows their name, as it should be. Coaches & players should be the face of an athletic department. The cult of personality around Jurich set them up for their big fall...and they are still going down.

No, he wasn't an unbelievable AD. Turtleneck was just a crooked sonofabitch. He bears the biggest responsibility for why the University Six athletic department is the laughing stock it is today.

That's really embarrassing. I'm wearing the exact same outfit right now.

"Are you wearing it better?" is the question after, "Why?" That was the only UL fitting photo that came up when I did a search for "fat hooker" so I linked it. No offense meant

So you think stealing from the community, universty and state is a good trade off because they. Won.OK
I guess my answer or the way your read it implied that, but that's not what I stated. You cant take away what's already there and the next guy is going to inherit a pretty good platform compared to what it was 20 years ago.

Im not a Louisville fan or a Jurich apologist, but just a guy that objectively look at things.

They were using Foundation money to overspend on athletics and grease each others contracts. How in the world could they bring the guy back after being a part of that whole thing with Ramsey and coaches, etc...? And, presumably, he wouldn't be able to overspend in a second stint.

He built it until he and those in his charge damn-near bankrupted it, damaging the City (Yum), the University (lost banner, re-hire of Petrino), while his son pulled down 800K in salary . . . .

You can’t look at buildings built to forgive the sins that built them, or folks like Hitler and Stalin would be the biggest hero’s of history.

I know how you feel, bro. Linda Carter still won't return my calls after 30 years of trying.

And he made sure he was the highest paid AD in the country. He did himself a few economic favors along with the university president.
