Tyler Ulis looks like he hates his life

Yeah I agree , Even with Cal picking him up after the accident ( who knows the details ??) he had to know Cal was a terrible coach . There should be no denying this , he should have jumped off board instead of volunteering his head for the chopping block . Elections have consequences I've heard before , well he elected to go to Arky with a washed up coach .
Ulis should be grateful and loval for Cal who is saving his life, I understand it

Keep in mind that Cal might have been the only offer he had. I have no ill will toward him for taking the job. I do feel sorry for him because he had to know it would be a disaster, but what else was he supposed to do? I'm sure he hopes to get a couple years of experience and then find a better landing spot.

He should be well connected in the NCAA circles , even a low level D1 coach makes a good living . Or go build a resume at a D2 or something , at some point go be your own man . I'm sure he made some serious coin as an assistant to Cal at UK and Ark .

Can't blame Ulis for taking a job on Cal's staff. Some people wait half their lives to get a position like that. Hopefully he manages to not take on some of Cal's bad habits.

I have no sympathy for Ulis. As with the players who followed Cal, he is getting just what he deserves. Ulis certainly knew that Cal can't coach. I have no idea why he wanted to be a member of that sad bunch of assistant coaches. It would be understandable if he was doing it at Kentucky, but certainly not at Arkansas.
I mean, what other choice did he have ? I seriously doubt he had any other opportunities.

Best thing about being an assistant coach is moving on and getting on the bench of some good in game coaches. I think if a guy can get on the bench of a few good coaches over say a 5 year span or so, he can learn the ins and outs of what works and does not work. A guy Tyler's age is already one of the players favorite coaches and he understands them the best. He should try to get on the bench with Pope, Rick, one of the hurley's and such for a bit. Then get to a place where he can advance and start his head coaching career.

The camera caught Cal screaming his head off one time with Payne sitting there looking at Cal. I wondered if Payne was thinking 'look at that idiot screaming his lungs out at them and the players trying to focus and play basketball.' Remember all the micro-coaching well during the games. Had to be frustrating and not fun for the players.
