Two more spots, correct?

We have 12. Might finish with 13. 15 isn’t happening. No one wants to come be the 14th and 15th player on the roster
Perry is the 13.. he helps out when needed and he can accept his lesser role to be on a UK title team. That's still needing a 7ft guy to block shots and atleast make them think we can. Garrison will be fine but not a 5.

Haven't really been following it, but I guess teams can have 15 next season, right? We have 13 if we don't lose any to portal or draft (Oweh). That leave 2 spots.
Realistically cannot keep all 15 players on a basketball roster ‘happy.’ While I’m sure it’s happened somewhere, off the top of my head I can’t think of a team that has retained all 13 players in the combined era of wide-open NIL and unlimited transfers. Having 15 full-ride scholarship players on the roster is a waste of money and effort. I’m among those hoping the House settlement implodes.

We'll see! They're both great defenders that can shoot extremely well.

Kam has 41% from three to hang his hat on and Chandler was better than 50% from three in our final seven games this season. Both athletic.

Will be fun to watch this one play out.

Hard to compare a freshmen sec season at UK vs tulane as well. Competition garbage by comparison when comparing to the sec.

November roster as I see it (assuming another shooter and Alvaro are both here)

Starters:
PG: Lowe
SG: Oweh
SF: Chandler
PF: Dioubate
C: Garrison (at least until JQ gets up to speed)

Backups:
PG: Lewis
SG: Johnson
SF: Transfer
PF: Alvaro
C: JQ

Reserve:
PG: Perry
SG:
SF: Noah
PF: Williams
C: Moreno

Williams being a reserve is just a side-effect of there being so much competition ahead of him, though I'd expect him to get plenty of minutes. I have a hard time seeing Chandler coming off the bench if he improves upon his performance at the end of last season, so I have to toss him in as a starter.

Most of our guys can play 3 different positions, so lists like these are more or less futile. Mine is an attempt to put who I feel will be the best players on the court at the same time. It'll evolve at the season progresses, players will get injured, and all that.

Still.

That's a wild roster.
Oweh needs to play SF. Really need a shooter at 2G

Chandler is good... but IMO a little smallish at the SF position during "crunch" time... shooting guard, point guard... sure... backup SF... sure....but as far as a rebounder/banger that can shoot...Hmmmm....
I'd wait and see what he looks like until after an off-season of weight training fundamentals training, before passing judgement on Chandler. IMO, he has potentially as much upside as anyone on the team.

I cant imagine being able to add another guard/wing and not having someone leave. Seems to me the last two spots might need to be bench guys. This is where it gets tough because your top10 guys are going to have their own ideas on play time.

I still think we need a starting 2.

If someone leaves, it is what it is. Upgrade the roster as much as possible and truly compete for a title.

Yeah I'm pretty much fine with that. I trust the staff to make the call of whether they'd rather have the incoming transfer, or risk losing someone like Lewis or Chandler.

But, it does seem like were set on backcourt and wings.

I hope Garrison doesn't leave. I think I'm one of the few that feels he's going to be really good.
I think Garrison has tons of upside. The biggest complaint I have about him is that he'd routinely fail to contest shots, get position for rebounds, or stay connected on D to his man when he was outside of the paint. All of those issues are fixable with reps, motivation, and some maturity.

It seems like our back court is in good shape. I mean, I wouldn’t send Yates or Pierre away if they want to come, but we don’t “need “ them. I do think we need a stretch 4 still. I know people think we have Alvaro locked up, but I really haven’t heard much on that front

Stanford sellers
Good numbers. Pretty consistent from 3 over the last two years. Nearly 40% for his career.

Good size as well at 6’5.

But he’s a west coast guy, grew up in Cali. Played at USC and Stanford.

What makes you think he wants to come here?

Would be major culture shock coming here from Cali.

I see the other day where St. John’s was the favorite to get him. I was also just throwing out names. It still seems like Pierre or Yates or somebody we haven’t heard of yet. Branham said tonight Kentucky might be interested in Ian Jackson

All three will split the majority of the minutes. All 3 are interchangeable at the 4 and 5 spot.
No, they aren’t. You’re going to have a REALLY hard time playing two of those three together unless there’s a MAJOR change to what pope does offensively. And I don’t think you could play two of the three together defensively at all. Garrison can’t defend the perimeter at all. I have doubt Moreno could either.

We have the 7’ guy in Moreno. We don’t need another

Oweh? He’s 1st team SEC and on some AA lists.
He should be priority #1 and on the cover of the 2025-2026 Media Guide.
I actually look for Oweh's numbers to drop. Last season, there were stretches he put the whole team on his shoulders and we just rode him. I'm expecting alot more flexibility on offense next year. If that happens, we shouldn't have to rely on him as much. He will be just as valuable next year, but his numbers may not reflect it as much.

Kinda how I’m seeing it right now too.

Be hard to add a Pierre type and still play Jasper/Chandler/Lewis the minutes each of them are anticipating at the 1-2 spots. And that’s if you’re not considering Williams at the 2 and only at the 3…..and then there is Dioubate who could probably play some 3/4.

We are clearly still pursuing a SG but I could easily see us being finished with key rotation guys if we miss in Pierre/Yates, adding 2 low level D1 guys for practice depth that will be happy to ride the bench on a title contender vs playing at an NKU type… and starting Jasper at the 2.
