Two days in, top 20 players in portal per DXV

I really dont have the bandwidth to keep up with this, especially with the tournament still going lol. God bless you if some of you can.

Ill trust the staff to fill the roster. All I really want (in relation to this current year), is to have a few "next level" type of guys. Maybe a premier paint presence, maybe a 3-level scorer who will likely find a spot in the NBA, etc. I think thats all that were really missing right now, right? Just a little more top end talent and I think Pope will compete for final4s almost every year

I continue to think if you put Oscar Cluff on a team where he doesn’t need to provide a lot of help defense then he will really shine. But I’ve not heard of Kentucky being involved. So maybe he doesn’t fit what they’re trying to do defensively.

Must be a crappy portal year if Owen Freeman is #2 on the list. I mean just about everyone on here has raked him through the coals when he was mentioned.

Imagine trying to win a championship and having to devote any extra brain power to this... It's not even optional at this point. I don't envy the extra work any CBB admin has to do in this new climate.

There is a comment at the end of the list about Braden Smith. Smith is the consensus Player of the Year in the Big Ten. He is also a tremendous leader and competitor. Would love to have him here running our team and being the model for our young guys.

Someone was saying earlier that there is smoke on the UNC board that Wilson hasn't signed with UNC yet and that Cudeau going to the portal might mean Wilson decommits and looks elsewhere. I doubt it, but crazier things have happened. If that did happen, and he were interested in KY, a large portion of this fanbase wouldn't want him, even if Pope and staff still did.

I wouldn't doubt this at all. That whole commitment felt a little like the Tjones to Washington ordeal. I would not be shocked if he backed out. Lots of changing landscape now.

I’d take Wilson if he decided to come here.
Also, I figured more West Virginia, IU and Texas players would hit the portal with their coaching changes. Iowa is having a mass exodus after their coach got canned.

Well if Pope really wants him, get cudeau out of the portal. But personally I like some of these portal options better! JMO.

Any list that has Brock Harding in the Top 20 is either trolling or the guy literally doesn't know dick about basketball.

Harding has one thing he's known for--driving into the lane--coming to a jump stop/traveling with it not being called 90% of the time because he's a Big Ten player.....and then getting abused on the defensive end to the point someone calls Child Protective Services for his well being. He's awful. Iowa recruited him because he played with Owen Freeman in HS.

My only wish is that he ends up at a school that Kentucky plays--and Louisville was on his list of teams who had reached out.

Very interesting to go back and look at the 2024 rankings. Oweh was in the mid 100s and Johnell Davis was #1. Lots of choices and talent out there.
Davis should have went somewhere that wasn’t offensively predicated on 1v1 drive drive drive. His greatest strengths are largely neutralized in Cals offense…and he was forced to be third fiddle to Wagner and Fland
