I'm so sick of the apparent "get out of jail free card" unc gets I never hated them like others til now
I hope they get hammered just like everyone else but I don't think they will. What makes me feel good about all of this is the simple fact everybody including UNC fans know exactly what "The Carolina Way" is and stands for now. Never again and I do mean NEVER again can any UNC fan say "we do things the right way" or "our student athletes care about class". They can say it but when they do in the back of their mind they know the truth and know how pathetic and stupid they sound. Even now when a UNC fan screams "The Carolina Way" the first thing that comes to their mind is Academic Fraud. They are now known as the dirtiest program in NCAA men's basketball and that black cloud will always hang over them! #UNCheat
That's just not enough. It is about time consequences are faced for actions. (Not just with this mess but in many things going on now.) When will people learn (They won't learn until they are held accountable.) that actions have or should have consequences. You can't cheat and cheat and cheat, steal and steal and steal, and defraud and defraud and defraud... (yadda yadda yadda) and expect to get away with it. When you can do that, everyone loses.
Agree with your sentiments agout the Carolina Way but not with the conclusion.After they skate their PR machine will take over and say they were completely vindicated. After a few years they will be back proclaiming the Carolina Way is back in full sway. History says that it will happen because before this scandal did anyone associate them with point shaving, assault and battery charges or association with known drug dealers?

Well, with all due respect, this does not cut it for me! If this were the only repercussion felt by UNC as a result of decades of cheating and fraud, I guarantee you they would sign up for this "punishment" right now! And they would be laughing.....at everyone (the NCAA and all its member institutions)...and pointing out their dubious titles in the record books while claiming to be the "victim" of a baseless NCAA investigation. If no punishment occurs to UNC, I will bet you.....with all I own....UNC will play the martyrdom card. Surely, the NCAA must punish them on an unprecedented level......if the NCAA stands for anything it claims to. JMO
I have been involved in paint shaving and let me tell you it takes dedication .
Don't get me wrong, I wanna see them hammered and hammered hard but I get th feeling they will skate. I hope the NCAA takes banners, wins and putts them on ten years probation and even then that won't be enough but I alone with millions (and millions) will never look at UNC without think of the scandal first.

They have postponed making the announcement until which time they feel more comfortable. The ncaa reluctantly agreed.
1. Dead
2. Disbarred
3. Plea bargain specialist without the stomach for trial work.

So who takes the tougher hit? Baylor football, who will more than likely get dinged with a server case of bad culture, or a program that ignores the actual rules.
And yes, the UNC scandal was a decades long culture.

Baylor is WAAAY worse than UNC, they deserved to have their athletics department permanently shut down back in 2003 IMO.

1. Attack and accuse anyone who has a different opinion than you of being a UNC fan somehow.
2. Think that its more urgent that a school be punished for paper classes than for rape and/or murder.
OK, sorry for calling you a cheat fan. I think UNC's punishment is long past due and I don't see why it is dependent on waiting to punish Baylor or anyone else for that matter. With your thinking, as long as another school does something that may be considered a worse violation, UNC continues to skate. Defrauding thousands of students of their education and cheating for decades is a seriously huge issue.
