Tuesday Dec 10 games involving top 25 teams

Unreal possession for Michigan. 5 points off 2 trips to the line and a bucket in a single possession. Wagner w the deep brick. Davis made a great play to save them there

The Cal Life Cycle is still relevant. Arkansas is on on step 4 right now.

Step 1: Enter season highly ranked with Final 4 and National Championship aspirations (CHECK)
Step 2: Lose first highly ranked matchup of the season and potentially get upset by a non-ranked team (CHECK)
Step 3: Continue to play lifeless basketball through November and early December (CHECK)
Step 4: Beat highly ranked opponent in December/January, team is starting to look decent (YOU ARE HERE)
Step 5: Win some tough games against ranked SEC teams, lose some away SEC games to terrible teams, but overall team is looking decent to good for March
Step 6: Enter March Madness with legitimate Final 4 hopes
Step 7: Lose to a lower ranked seed in a game where the offense looks terrible
Step 8: Lose at least half the team to the NBA
Step 9: Repeat!

Very spirited game by two teams who aren’t nearly as good as Kentucky. Arkansas will do well to make the tournament.

Michigan flat out gave away the game. Some of the poorest late first half and late second half coaching of this early season. It seemed like half the time they were playing out of control. They continued forcing inside guard play as opposed to going to their bigs. They should have played the high low game with their two 7 footers.

Right on cue, Arky has an 18-point lead with 9 minutes left, Michigan scores six straight points and Cal’s ass puckers up tighter than a snare drum. Touch and go from there. I sure don’t miss that “playing not to lose” crap. Tubby used to do that too.

It's really funny how you all will twist yourself into pretzels to avoid admitting Arkansas played a good game.

The Arkansas response offensively tonight was something. If they hit shots, they are good. Much tougher team than Kentucky 2023.

I wish them the best of luck winning more games while allowing a mediocre offense to shoot 58% from the field and 44% from 3.

Kentucky 2023 lost to UNC Wilmington and Oakland. So, yeah. You’re really going out on a limb there.

Michigan's got a top 45 offense. Certainly not great, but not really mediocre. But let's face it, that was a very good win for Arkansas. They made a big comeback, made adjustments, shot the ball well (they now shoot better than us from 3), and got a big win against a ranked team. It's not hard to just admit that, not every single comment about Arkansas needs to be a slight about them and Cal.

It kills you to say that Michigan clearly gave the game away. If Michigan had played under control with the first half lead instead of playing like they were down by 10 late in the second half of the game, they would have easily won. Arkansas was shooting out of their minds in the first half; however, Michigan should have continued mixing in zone defenses because Arkansas game is the dribble drive and not 3-ball. When DJ strings together 3 consecutive 3-pointers, you know it isn't going to be a good night for you. However, if Michigan played under control and protected the ball, Arkansas would have been able to come back.

It's really funny how you spend your time on this board every Arkansas game defending a guy that doesn't coach here anymore
I'm not really defending anyone. It's just weird you guys can't admit a tough win against a top 20 opponent was a game where Arkansas played well. You need to come up with every excuse in the book to convince yourselves it's Michigan's fault for losing and that Arkansas should get zero credit.

I’m not really that guy, at all. I’m just not too impressed by what I just watched, aside from the fact that it was a hard played game.

Michigan would be in control, if they didn’t go brain dead for 10 minutes. Definitely the best Arky has looked in months though.
I think it was more about how badly Michigan started playing when they were up by 16 than anything Arkansas did. Arkansas' come back occurred because of the two following reasons. 1st Michigan started playing panic ball like they were down by 16 instead of up by 16. 2nd Arkansas was uncharacteristically hitting 3s including DJ. However, when the game got close, they drifted back to their shooting norms which isn't very good.

This is what I'm talking about with you guys twisting yourself into pretzels and refusing to see what's actually happening. Arkansas absolutely did not uncharacteristically hit 3s tonight. They shot 39% from 3 tonight and are 36.5% on the season. Those are almost identical numbers. DJ is 35% on the season and was 2/3 tonight, it's not like he got hot and hit seven of them.

You guys always have these talking points that simply are not true if you took five seconds to look at the box score.
