Tubby loves him some low expectations. Has made him a lot of money thru the years.
Distractions like people wanting to win.
Tubby is horrendous. He sucks in every way. Watching his teams play at the end of his Kentucky run was brutal. He's an even worse recruiter.
Just a lazy guy who should not have a major D1 coaching job ever again.

He's right - Mud Island, Graceland, Peabody ducks, Beale St, Sun Studio, BBQ, FedEx, Grizzlies - plenty of distractions in Memphis which prevent a man from attending to his coaching duties.

Maybe next year they can run a fast paste offense and Tubby can recruit players who are taller in shoes.

Can you imagine how bad it would've been for UK Basketball had he still been here? We'd be losing to the likes of Eastern and Morehead. Must be nice to collect millions of dollars for incompetence.
Tubby needs to send UK 50 percent of the money he has made since leaving. He has basically benefited from being a former UK coach even though he never wins.
I like Tubby more than most here, but he's done. It's time to hang it up before he embarrasses himself.
Don't really have any confidence that he can run a D1 program any more. Wouldn't think he still needs the money. Maybe could be an assistant somewhere if he just wants to coach. Kinda a shame he can't seem to go out on somewhat of a good note.

He never accepts responsibility, it's always the fault of some outside forces. He's a fraud imo.
He seriously needs to hang it up. He is a horrible coach right now. His reputation that he had has taken a hit. At a time he was considered to b one of college basketballs premier coaches and now he is washed up. He has road the coattails of 98 long enough. He needs to retire and enjoy his life.

Read the article just now. Main thrust was what has happened since the Lawson kid suggested he might leave early.
I could go back on this board and find numerous posts made during the Cats rough stretch saying that a few Cats were just trying to pad their stats and looking forward to the draft. So it's not an outlandish take.
Not sure why so many rejoice in Tubbys failures. Some are still way over the top all these years later. I guess I could say some posters suck, but that's pretty obvious.

It doesn't matter. Patterson would have followed Lucas wouldn't have been here and tubby wouldn't have recruited around him. The program was in trouble going forward it's why Tubby left.
How many years have you made 3 million dollars?
Or won a national championship?

Only one person was going to be hired and given ricks leftovers in 98. Had that been #8, me, hell you, we could've parlayed it into a helluva career.

Horrible comparison. Jasper played two years.
One year was a freshman and his sophomore year, shouldn't have even played. He was basically playing on one leg. It's remarkable he even saw the court
Smith was there four years, without injury
(Note - I think Saul played hard and to his abilities, but his abilities weren't suited to a UK caliber program)
