After 34 years of trying to understand contracts and litigating a few of them, be cautious judging them without reading them.Yeah...sort of common sense is it not?
Deone Walker will leave here with the legendary status of a Josh Allen, a Dewayne Robertson, and an Art Still. Here I found it.
Possibly, but seems injury prone. This player is worthy of serious consideration by UK one would think.
He also said "BBN 4Ever". Have to think that means he's staying. He will be a key starter on our defense which typically is pretty solid and has put guys in the NFL. I know money talks, but he's pretty safe here.We are gonna keep Walker. I cant find his twitter account now...but he tweeted something like "its Ls down the next 2-3 years" so hes probably staying.
Is that a McDonald's bag?Volcesspool claims he's in the bag for Tennessee
I don't think NIL deals are by nature allowed to be related to the school. They are exactly that, a contract entered into by companies to market products with the player's name image and likeness. Its more like pro sports endorsement deals. The team can't control what a player does or doesn't endorse, and the company can't control where the player plays.Yeah...sort of common sense is it not?
You can't take 100k to attend Mizzou and then jet on over to Tennessee (and take more money) without having that 100k have paybacks for early termination.
He stays healthy...he probably has a good shot at a first round pick.Deone Walker will leave here with the legendary status of a Josh Allen, a Dewayne Robertson, and an Art Still.
God only makes a handful of humans each year who have the size and talent of Deone Walker.
So do you think Stockton Bank is goign to pay Wandale Robinson to plug mortgages if he were to leave and play at Tennessee? Come on guys...this isn't hard. I get the technical rules but there are like a zillion ways to get this done w/o putting "You have to go to UK" in the contract.I don't think NIL deals are by nature allowed to be related to the school. Pay for play is still against NCAA rules, its why our collective isn't even called an official UK collective. Boosters still aren't allowed to pay kids to play for a college, what they're allowed to do, is make it known they want a player from such and such school to endorse their business or do a meet and greet, so players go and the boosters pick the players they want.
If I was the manager / owner of the Porsche dealer that signed Shaedon Sharpe to the NIL deal, I would have a pretty chapped ass that he didn’t / wouldn’t even play,After 34 years of trying to understand contracts and litigating a few of them, be cautious judging them without reading them.
Generally, adults may contract for any legal purpose and the language of the contract rules.
If my auto dealership is in Lexington, I would be a fool to enter into a contract for advertising that allowed the subject to simply leave for another coast or another team.
I suspect these are based on a yearly, or even on a more frequent renewable basis. I would advise a business client to make it renewable at least every six months, with qualifications for the ability of the player to play, and “morality” clauses addressing violations of the law, maintenance of a sufficient GPA, etc.
Given that some of these deals are worth 7 figures, there will be litigation.
If a player questioned the limitations, a business entity would have a pretty strong case that continuing a deal with a flunk-out, transfer, or player suspended for illegal activity would be counter-productive, and violative of contract
language.
Don’t assume the Courts will feel much sympathy given the relative youth of the player: SCOTUS recognized NIL, as these are adults capable of entering contracts. Hence, “seller beware,” all who are 18 or older will be adjudged as adults capable of
making legally binding decisions.
I often wondered about that... the NIL deal, not the dealer's assIf I was the manager / owner of the Porsche dealer that signed Shaedon Sharpe to the NIL deal, I would have a pretty chapped ass that he didn’t / wouldn’t even play,
Another one Kentucky should be heavily involved with
After watching him play this year, I also look at Levis and think “that could be me.”I think UK goes after him hard. I think he sees Levis and thinks that could be me.
Good point, McNamara is solid, he won’t blow you away with anything but he will make the plays he is suppose to make and doesn’t turn the ball overI think UK goes after him hard. I think he sees Levis and thinks that could be me.

Now we come to the crux of the OC conundrum.... Does Stoops stand pat with Coach Scang or cut him loose? No QB worth having is going to come into a situation without serious clarity of the coaching situation.Good point, McNamara is solid, he won’t blow you away with anything but he will make the plays he is suppose to make and doesn’t turn the ball over
Just read on the Michigan Rivals site that McNamara has 2 years left and could use a 3rd from the COVID year. Wow!!
Another one Kentucky should be heavily involved with
Most certainly
Here’s one Kentucky should get involved in
I think they end up keeping scangerallo for another yearNow we come to the crux of the OC conundrum.... Does Stoops stand pat with Coach Scang or cut him loose? No QB worth having is going to come into a situation without serious clarity of the coaching situation.
Obviously I have no idea how this young man would view the UK program.....
Him and McNamara would be a really good start to the portalMost certainly
I don't want him. I've never seen an OL smile in his profile photo. Something about it just isn't right. I want angry OL
Another one
I can overlook the smile, 6’6 300 pound multiple year starting o-linemen don’t grow on trees, the smile can be worked out of himI don't want him. I've never seen an OL smile in his profile photo. Something about it just isn't right. I want angry OL
When's it's all said and done, I would have to agree. Yenser probably gets the "Thank you but your services are no longer needed" routine.I think they end up keeping scangerallo for another year

Well according to Jones, the QBs they have reached out to are going to take their time about deciding so Stoops is taking his time deciding on Scang. Now we come to the crux of the OC conundrum.... Chick fil A bagIs that a McDonald's bag?
This! If a player signs a NIL deal then require at least 2-year contract. It's hard to believe that the NIL deals aren't tied to a player staying at a school.
Is he trying to say that the OCs job hinges on landing a quarterback out of the portal?Well according to Jones, the QBs they have reached out to are going to take their time about deciding so Stoops is taking his time deciding on Scang.
BS.I don't want him. I've never seen an OL smile in his profile photo. Something about it just isn't right. I want angry OL
Have Cade meet scang.Despite what most fans think, scang is a major draw for a QB transfer.
Oh, yeah, good old False Start StenbergBS.
Stenberg smiled in his Junior photo.
He claimed he had belched, and was the smile was a reaction, but come on . . . .
Have Cade meet scang.
Then Stoops point-blank asks Cade "who do you want as your offensive coordinator?"
If he likes scang and his NFL pedigree, OK.
If he doesn't, and names another we can land, we make the move.
Not all that difficult. Would Stoops get a black eye for losing scang? Given the numbers, are you kidding?
Maybe this player has already met Scang, he's run QB camps for years.Have Cade meet scang.
