Why is everyone ruling out him playing this upcoming year? Baker and Juzang ...others have transferred and were immediately eligible so why wouldnt he be? They used homesickness as a reasoning!

I don't think it would matter, honestly. The guy averaged 5 and 4 last year at Rhode Island. I don't see him fighting for serious minutes in his first year in Lexington.
Yep. This would be a tough group to try to earn significant PT with.

He will get so much better practicing with this years guys he could be a Diamond in the Rough like his brother.
Obi has a pretty amazing story, couldn’t dunk until senior year of high school, went to prep school and grew 5 inches, redshirted first year at Dayton! Let’s just hope the brother takes the same path!

Toppin getting an extra year to mature can only help him. He gets a full year playing against a whole squad of players that where better than anyone on Rhode Island's roster. He will be a seasoned veteran by the time 21 year comes around and have three years to work on his game. Work on conditioning, strength, and shot for a whole year with no pressure. He played on a RI team that went was pretty good. 21-9 / 13-5 in the A10 (3rd). The A10 is a very, very good league. RI had 4 guys average DD points. They beat Bama by14, Providence by 14, and lost at WVU by only 5.

He scored DD's 5 times as a freshman and had 3 a few other, only playing 18 minutes per game. 5 pts / 4 reb. per game.

12 pts in 11 minutes against St. Joes
12 pts. and 8 reb. in 23 minutes vs Richmond
10 pts. against LSU in 22 minutes.
11 pts. against Bama in 17 minutes.
11 pts. against LIU in 16 minutes.

Had 5 pts. and 7 rebounds against Big Brother Obi in 14 minutes.
