Not guys who are in the portal yet (necessarily), but the top guys I think may be able to go into it (I say think because not sure if SRs still have a Covid year they can use or not, lets assume so). But these guys can't be so good that they are 1st round picks. Admittedly I've not watched all 350 teams, not close! So relying on the Stats, at least that can narrow down the list, don't want bigs who get 6 boards a game, or guards who shoot 30% from 3, or guys who score a lot because are a volume scorer.

Perimeter (PG, PG/SG, SG)

I’d go 40% plus because you know Cal will f’em up when they get here.

Cal needs to work the portal hard to get some stars on the roster
He also shouldn't just take the first guy that fills the need, and he shouldn't be so concerned with players feelings, Kessler and Cockburn could have been here.

If he's going to clog the lane with 2 bigs he might as well do it with 2 all american bigs and not have a small ball 4 sitting opposite of oscar in the low post.

Wheeler is the weak link.

Doesn’t shoot it well enough to be guarded out front and rarely finishes going to his right.

Collins if gains weight can shuttle between 4/5.

Appreciate the work you put into this but Kentucky has to stop relying on mid major players and go get better quality players

Have to upgrade at point, if Wheeler is backup that’s fine, will he accept that?

Sure would be nice to get Pippen as our point guard next year!!

Going to be tons of SEC players in the portal alone. CaL should be able to hand pick some dudes

The pack kid from K-state would be a good player but with in you don’t know if it’s good stats bad team meaning he can shoot whenever he wants or be a high volume shooter

The National Player of the Year just came out of the portal.
Agree he didn’t go to a mid major he went to West Virginia before mintz and Grady are fine if they are role players but Kentucky can’t rely on players like that to be major contributors

Still doing statistics I see. Way too much work, but good job!!!

Just as FYI, one of my daughters is going thru UK Grad School on-line for Applied Statistics.

I hope you are doing well.

Been a tough few days for us in NC after our Thursday debacle, hasn't it?

What is hilarious is we could of had Green from EKU I’m sure, Cal didn’t think he was good enough
Green is decent, but a much poorer shooter than Wheeler. He is shooting 36.8% this year overall, versus 44.1% for Wheeler. I’ll take Wheeler every time.

Also there will be much better options available once the tournament ends and after the draft process Kentucky usually waits

I don't think you want to be counting on Fredrick. I'll be grateful for whatever he can give UK next season, But I think his injuries, especially the last one, will have permanent repercussions. Similar to a torn Achilles, you can recover to play again these days but I don't recall an athlete come back from that and be the same athletically. I say we get some big time shooting & scoring 2Gs in here and hope Fredrick can help too.

I really wouldn’t want either to be the starter, but a nice quick change of pace guard, I just can’t deal with horrible shooting PG’s so I’d go Green.

Fredericks injuries are foot injuries if I remember correctly but I agree they need to go get another shooter and if sharpe leaves get another scorer on top of that

Primarily looking for guards who shoot 35%+ from 3 AND do something else well, or 3pt shooters who shoot 40%+, or bigs who are either really good rebounders or shot blockers and not undersized.
JW, it would be nice if you would keep a running list of these transfers (since you've already done a great job getting it started) that could be pinned for ongoing discussion.

Fredericks injuries are foot injuries if I remember correctly but I agree they need to go get another shooter and if sharpe leaves get another scorer on top of that
I thought it was a torn hamstring tendon/ligament. That's not a good one. But if I'm wrong on that I apologize. And by the way, I love what Fredrick could bring if 100% healthy. So, don't take it as me not thinking Fredrick is good enough.
