To Those Saying Next Year Isn't a Sweet 16 Team Now...

The biggest difference in this team as is and 2013 is guard play! We will have 2 quality point guards 13 had Harrow and a salmon and Goodwin was forced into min. Also Skal can shoot free throws!! Having 2 bigs in at the end of the game in Poy and Skal that can both shoot free throws will be a big deal!

Where is the bench? Hawkins and Willis? They got cigar minutes and now they are the bench?

If you need proof to know that is not a top caliber UK team, not sure what to tell you.

Need a few more bullets for the gun before that team is considered a threat, IMO.
Agree Bob, that lineup may score 50-60 points per game.

We we need at least two legitimate get-your-own shot makers to boost numbers

with all freshman, you can't count on three players doing all the work...

Sure, they could use another big and a shooter, but what team couldn't? People act like.. you can't have any weaknesses. Well, sorry to burst your bubble but pretty much every team has a weakness.

Our point guards and #1 overall player, SKAL, would be enough to make a run. Guards win tourneys and our two guards got heavy skill with the ball especially Briscoe. We have not had a ball handler such as him in one vs one situations. His handle and dribble moves are best ive seen in awhile. The way he did Blakeney last night......the boy can get to that rim on ANYBODY.
Briscoe will Never, EVER get away with that dribbling next year. He would have been called for palming about 4 times if it had been a real game. A lot of good pg's can do what he did when refs aren't calling palming. There's a reason you never seen that happen in college. It was playground stuff.

The chicken littles are out in full force.

well, at least vegas bettors think we might be pretty good next season according to futures odds. uk is the second favorite with va at 10-1 to win it all, behind only uncheat at 9-1.

5 completley brand new starters man. That's all that needs to be said. There's a reason so many fans were disappointed we didn't win it all this year. We're losing our top 7 players. Everyone is going to be out for revenge next year as well. Some of you are going to be in for a RUDE, RUDE awakening next year, I'm warning you right now.

We needed to win the title this year brother, because next year is going to be an 8-10 loss (plus) season. We blew it this year. I know we want to tell ourselves we'll have just as good of a chance next year as sort of a coping mechanism to deal with the historic failure we just experienced, but it's just not true. Next year is going to be an Archie Goodwin-frustrating type season. That team had a lot of talented guys just like next year's team will have, but a bunch of young talented guys with virtually no experience and no standout dominant player are hard to win at a high level with.

I lean this way^^^^^^......We could not win it all with last seasons team and losing the 7 best players from that team still means we will be awesome? I don't think so....We need a couple more recruits or we will have some serious problems scoring. I personally think Skal is the 2nd coming of Anthony Davis, but it took a great supporting cast to help AD win the tournament. We do not have that next year.

CatsIndy -- What makes you think we are going to develop much ? DJ regressed , WCS was here 3 years and still couldn't score even if left unguarded . A few have improved I guess , but in general we don't tend to get much better individually from year to year. I wouldn't expect anyone to grow enough as a player to make a difference

There already is more talent now, counting the three commits than almost any of Tubby's or Billy Clydes teams.
Strange how Cal has spoiled everyone now. How many MDAA's did UK have on its roster on the average prior to
Calipari?

Next yrs' team has 5 now? without any more additions.

Yes next yr will be at least sweet sixteen or better, and it always depends on the NCAA
selection and bracketing,

Sometimes less is more, and one player always seem to blow up when you least expect it, like Josh H did a few yrs back.
Ky has the talent to be very good next yr, won't go undefeated by any chance, but a good team none the less.

I'll add one more thing, the NIT team Cal had lost its best player and Cal himself said that there was
some internal problems with that team, players not following his guidance/orders. Otherwise that would not
have been a NIT team....
UK will be fine next yr. Cal will add some more players, but UK already has enough to compete with most anyone next yr
