TN-Dean Martin at TN

If you're going to beat Tennessee at home you really need to hold them to seven points a quarter. And no more than 17 at halftime.
If you don't have a defense capable of that then you're going to have to have big time stars make plays like Alabama did.

If you don't have the offense and you don't have the defense Tennessee is going to win out most likely...

Ky strength has been not giving up big plays from the pass game and controlling clock with the run game and occasional Levis arm.

We'll see if they can hold up. We do have experience playing Ole Miss quick play and Tennessee's run and gun last year.
Stoops and defensive coordinator White are better eqipped than Sabin and his defensive coordinators were imo.
Stoops players almost always play above their head in a big big game. 4 straight bowl victories and not against cupcakes. If Stoops wins this game he'll take his spot as the best coach in the SEC and he knows it.
We shall see....

It's 38 to 7 with 7 minutes to halftime.
Good good. They'll be coming into the game hot against Kentucky.
We shall see.
This Kentucky Tennessee game I wouldn't trust any point spread. It is very hard to tell what's going to happen.

They might smoke us in the first two quarters or we might pop out to a 10-0 lead and put pressure on them.

I really believe the coin flip giving the ball to Kentucky first would be very key. Very!
You want to score first and try to quiet crowd a little bit. Some doubt in there

Yeah you can't split time of possession with tennessee.
Both teams had the ball about 15 minutes.
You want to beat Tennessee you got to be able to run the ball, get first downs, run the clock, run the clock, run the clock, and give them on offense less than 10 minutes a half.

Tennessee Martin average about two and a half yards a Rush LOL.

He's consistent. When most of this board was melting down after the loss to SC and declaring the Cats season over, he continued to believe his team still had plenty of fight. Got to respect that
He's a sunshine pumper no doubt. It's not unheard of for a heavily favored team to struggle early against an inferior opponent, then cruise to an easy victory.

Edit to add that this game should be on a running clock. This is nothing more than a glorified scrimmage for UT, and a (hopefully) nice paycheck for UT Martin.

Look at the TOP in our game against them last year. Look at it against Bama last week. TOP means nothing to UT.

The goal is to use the time of possession to keep Tennessee off the field from scoring.
Limit possessions.

You damn sure don't want to give Tennessee a chance to score the ball nine times in the red zone. probably at least that many times today against Tennessee martin

Problem is TN will just score in 2 minutes every time again.

Great offense Tennessee, but jeez letting UT Martin score 4 tds on you. Oklahoma all over again

And giving up 500 yards of O to an OVC team. I'm sure Chumlee doesn't care if they score 65.
300+ yards came in the 2nd half when we had 2nd and 3rd stringers in and in the 4th qtr had 4th stringers in.

I don’t think anyone in Knoxville cared

17 of the 24 pts were in the 2nd half when UT was so deep into the roster I wasn't familiar with some of the names. But is it worse allowing UTM, a pretty good FCS team, to score 17 pts on your scrubs, or to allow your starters to give up 23 pts to a bad MAC team, NIU?

Don’t start w that common sense crap , no one wants to hear / got time for that.

Omg, drop the stupid sunshine pumper Bs, it's so stupid. It's being a fan. You know, short for fanatic. It's way better than have to see all the gloom and doom from half the posters on this board.
